In that moment, I realized how rare timely help is, it’s not a guarantee, but a luxury. Too many fathers carry their children, too many loved ones carry each other, because there’s simply no ambulance when it’s needed most. This service is far more important than 10-minute food delivery, because when it comes to saving lives, speed is everything. We’ve all been there, and we all needed this. Great initiative. But I have a few concerns/suggestions. 1. Does Blinkit have trained paramedics? 2. Will the rates vary depending on the traffic and demand, like in Uber and Ola? 3. Will there be a price ceiling? Govt regulations must be there. 4. Any mechanism for tackling customers who might call the ambulance for non-life threatening situations (since calling an ambulance will be on the finger tips)? 5. Urban areas already have ambulances. Reaching rural and remote areas is the issue. How would Blinkit educate rural customers? 6. Will there be a preferred list of hospitals it will take to? 7. Have you mapped accident prone areas for better stationing points of these ambulances in order to reduce the response time? 8. Any scope for integrations with emergency services like 112/108? 9. Zomato’s quick commerce arm Blinkit has now launched a 10-minute ambulance service👇 Blinkit cofounder and CEO Albinder Dhindsa, in a post on X, said, “We are taking our first step towards solving the problem of providing quick and reliable ambulance service in our cities.” The ambulance service is starting from Gurugram today with five vehicles, and will be expanded to more areas soon, he added. Dhindsa said that the users will “start seeing an option to book a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance” on the app. He said that the ambulances are equipped with essential life-saving equipment, including oxygen cylinders, AED (Automated External Defibrillator), stretcher, monitor, suction machine, and essential emergency medicines and injections.
