This will indeed be a game changer for the emergency services industry provided multiple factors are in place and meet the quality standards of such services.

🇮🇳🙌 The 10-minute #ambulanceservice is exactly what we’ve been waiting for. I’ll always remember the feeling of helplessness I experienced almost three years ago when I urgently needed an ambulance for my father. In that moment, I realized how rare timely help is, it’s not a guarantee, but a luxury. Too many fathers carry their children, too many loved ones carry each other, because there’s simply no ambulance when it’s needed most.
This service is far more important than 10-minute food delivery, because when it comes to saving lives, speed is everything. We’ve all been there, and we all needed this. It’s a lifeline for families everywhere. I can’t wait for it to reach every city and remote village. A powerful start to the new year with such a meaningful contribution to society. Well done, Blinkit and ZomatoAlbinder Dhindsa
➡️According to a study by the Indian Journal of Community Medicine, India has only 0.33 ambulances per 10,000 people, far below the global average of 1.9 ambulances per 10,000 people. https://lnkd.in/gr4xCZgh
➡️ The World Health Organization highlights that traffic congestion is a leading cause of delayed emergency responses, contributing to over 15% of preventable deaths in India. https://lnkd.in/gvF-8d4b
I believe that having priority lanes for ambulances can be a crucial step forward. When needed, they become the lifeline between life and loss. Reaching the hospital on time truly makes a difference, and families would do anything to save their loved ones. Let’s make this a priority, it’s one of the most meaningful things we can do 🙏

Blinkit's foray into ambulance services is an interesting move. By leveraging their existing logistics infrastructure, they can potentially reduce response times and increase access to emergency care. However, it will be crucial to ensure that their ambulances are staffed with trained medical professionals and that they comply with regulatory requirements. Looking forward to seeing how this service evolves.

Great initiative. But I have a few concerns/suggestions.
1. Does Blinkit have trained paramedics?
2. Will the rates vary depending on the traffic and demand, like in Uber and Ola?
3. Will there be a price ceiling? Govt regulations must be there.
4. Any mechanism for tackling customers who might call the ambulance for non-life threatening situations (since calling an ambulance will be on the finger tips)?
5. Urban areas already have ambulances. Reaching rural and remote areas is the issue. How would Blinkit educate rural customers?
6. Will there be a preferred list of hospitals it will take to?
7. Have you mapped accident prone areas for better stationing points of these ambulances in order to reduce the response time?
8. Any scope for integrations with emergency services like 112/108?
9. Will there be inter-city facility in the future?

Congratulations to Blinkit on Launching 10-Minute Ambulance Services : An Impactful Initiative that speaks to the very heart of responsible entrepreneurship.
At a time when healthcare infrastructure in our cities is strained, and response times can mean the difference between life and death, Blinkit’s decision to leverage their logistics understanding and existing network to offer life-saving services is commendable. With ambulances equipped with essential medical equipment and a dedicated team of trained paramedics, this is an amazing initiative to address a systemic issue in urban India.
As the founder of Saathi a social inspired tech venture aimed at empowering and uplifting India’s blue-collar workforce, this resonates deeply with me. I believe businesses hold immense potential to fix inefficiencies in society – from healthcare and education to financial inclusion and workforce development. It’s not just about building scalable businesses; it’s about building innovative meaningful solutions that transform lives.
In my book, #FounderUp, I explore this very idea – that true startup success lies in aligning ambition with impact. Growth should never come at the cost of values. Today's founders must ask themselves, What systemic issues can we address? What inefficiencies can we fix to create lasting value for the masses? These questions are the foundation of sustainable and responsible entrepreneurship.
Blinkit’s ambulance service is a example of responsible innovation, proving that profit-with-purpose is not just a utopian ideal, but a business strategy that can create real impact.
At Saathi, we aim to address inefficiencies in workforce empowerment. We believe that uplifting those at the bottom of the pyramid creates a ripple effect that benefits not just individuals, but society as a whole.
As the Bhagavad Gita teaches us: “Inaction in a world of action is a greater sin than imperfect action.”
Let’s act, imperfect as it may be, and solve the problems that truly matter.
