A recent report by nasscom in association with Zinnov has revealed a surging interest in India's semiconductor sector. Nearly a third of new global capability centers (GCCs) established in India during Q4 2023 catered to this industry, highlighting a focus on design and validation leveraging India's skilled talent pool. The report further stated that the global semiconductor talent pool stands at 2.3 million, with the US, China and India collectively housing half of this workforce. Bengaluru and Hyderabad emerged as the top two destinations for semiconductor GCCs in India. The months spent planning leading up to this event and the event week in itself felt nothing short of what a movie would be if Christopher Nolan and Martin Scorsese come together to direct it. Every day with a new unexpected challenge and with twists and turns unforeseen. But some of the critical learnings were only reiterated and are here to stick. Here are my top 10: 1) Planning is 50% of the work done 2) Team work is dream work 3) A leader is never afraid to lead from the front. Examples are set when you walk the talk 4) The ability to remain calm under pressure and rethink quickly on the feet saves nine 5) Delgations made on time by identifying the team members with the right skill sets to execute the planned action item makes for a perfectly composed medley 6) Managing stakeholders with varied expectations requires you to put others before you 7) Teams need to be agile and ready to realign 8) Building amicable relationships at work comes a long way 9) Never be afraid to say no 10) Continous feedbacks are good And oh! Maybe 2 more as I recount experiences. 😀 11) Never forget to have fun and juice the maximum out of any situation 12) Rest, recuperate and recalibrate - downtime increases productivity and brings freshness to thought process.
