Today is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝟭,𝟯 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆? 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝟭 𝗶𝗻 𝟲 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀.  1 in 6 of us facing stigma, discrimination, and lack of social support. How do we change this? During my recent radio conversations with individuals from this resilient community, they shared profound concerns that demand collective attention: ➡️ Persistent discrimination in society ➡️ Unnecessary pity that undermines their capabilities ➡️ Exclusion from political and leadership opportunities ➡️ Significant employment challenges These conversations revealed a critical need for action to dismantle systemic barriers and create opportunities for persons with disabilities to thrive. Inclusion is not charity—it is a right.
