In our third year of supporting Women’s Health initiatives, we are happy to see the development of fact-based Women’s Health Index for Slovakia, which shows significant regional disparities in healthcare outcomes for women across Slovakia.
More so, it offered valuable insights, for example:
📍 Cancer is the leading cause of death (50%) in women who contribute to the economy
📍 Prevention spending is 3x lower than EU average
📍 Mental Health challenges affect more women than men in Slovakia on a ratio of 3:2
Fortunately, we gained valuable lessons from the United Kingdom, through the support of the UK Embassy, where we learned about the U.K. Women’s Health Strategy and Action plan.
Based on local Slovak health insights and examples of strategies from other countries, our hope is for the establishment of a Women’s Health Strategy for Slovakia.
We see this as a realistic possibility if we collaborate across all relevant stakeholders (MoH, Health Insurance Companies, Medical Community, Patient groups, and Industry) to achieve this.

➡️Naším spoločným cieľom bolo zadefinovanie východisk pre stratégiu v oblasti zdravia žien so zámerom uľahčiť prístup pacientiek k zdravotnej starostlivosti a skrátiť ich cestu od diagnostiky po liečbu.
➡️Diskutovali sme o inovatívnych regionálnych iniciatívach, ktoré majú potenciál priniesť pridanú
hodnotu aj na národnej úrovni.
