To date, GenAI's power has been closely coupled with model size. Some models exceed the trillion parameter threshold, making them infeasible for most businesses to train, deploy, and use on-prem. We are seeing a counter-trend towards using smaller, more efficient models capable of operating on-edge devices integrated directly into applications without requiring costly infrastructure and internet connectivity. It is time to invest in technologies and partnerships that enable the development and use of these small models.
