Yesterday, Callebe and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. While that alone is special milestone, the real story is where we chose to celebrate - One41. 🍝 One41 holds a very special place in both of our hearts for two reasons: ❤️ It's where we met over 10 years ago 👩🏾🍳 We both worked there (me as a hostess and Callebe as server/bartender) If there's one industry I believe everyone should work in at some point, it's the restaurant business. Hands down. In fact, I think everyone should experience all the different roles - host/hostess, server, back-of-house, bartender - to truly learn the ins and outs. Working at One41 was truly one of my favorite jobs, and the learnings I gained are invaluable. I'm talking about a multitude of experiences you can't really get anywhere else: 🤝 Exposure to people I probably never would have met 💡 Learning different ways of problem-solving 😤 Dealing with challenging customers (you know what I mean!) 🗺️ Conversations that led to new experiences 🍷 Trying new foods and drinks ❤️ The list goes on I reflect on my restaurant experience often, and I've carried those learnings along with me throughout my career; particularly in Sales. I found a lot of joy working in the industry, and it's had a lasting impact on me. For all my fellow Atlantans, whether you're ITP or OTP, you've got to check out One41. 1 year anniversary! Most asked question after this day is, “How did you do it?” I would smile and ask myself, “How did I do it?” I’m not sure there is one specific answer to how someone steps out of their comfort zone and transforms into the person they once aspired to be. Crossing that line and never looking back is a choice made repeatedly, day after day. It opens your eyes to new possibilities and challenges. It’s about embracing discomfort, taking risks, and trusting the process-even the bad days! Each small step forward builds momentum, reinforcing the belief that change is possible. It requires patience, resilience, and a willingness to learn from failure. Ultimately, it’s a journey of self-discovery, where each experience shapes who you are and who you want to become. The key is to keep moving forward, even when the path seems uncertain. Each choice leads you closer to the person you were meant to be… one day… Goals come true ! I am almost 6 months into my Voyager Program and thought I would share some of the things I’m grateful for and have learned… 1. When you are a leader as opposed to a manager many more will be by your side and you will create a positive work environment as well as have an amazing team. 2. Take everything one shift at a time - there will be those long days and you will be tired (all the time) but I know I’m in the right place because I love what I do; even when I have a bad day. 3. Collaboration cultivates creativity - with all of the holidays coming up I have had the opportunity to create our newest craft cocktails, but I chose not to do it alone. I included my team from the bartenders, barbacks, and servers. (See picture) 4. When you go to bat for your team, listen to them, and create positive changes to make their lives easier - as much as you do for them, they will do in return. 5. I am so blessed to be working for such an amazing team and could not be more grateful for those I work with every day. Remember - you never know everything and can always learn something new whether you’re new to your job/role or if you’ve been in the industry for 30+ years. 🎉Celebrating my THIRD anniversary at Compass!🎉 Reflecting on the past three years, my life and career have undergone a huge, once unimaginable, shift. My time at Compass has been nothing short of transformative, shaping my professional capabilities, personal identity and overall confidence. Here are my top three takeaways from three years: 1. 🙋♀️Surround yourself with people smarter than you. When I joined the team, I was struck by the caliber of individuals—bright, driven, and engaging. Initially intimidated, I look back today and realize I integrated into this exceptional community at some point, without even noticing, evolving into a peer among equals. 2. 🙇♀️Listen to understand. Operating on a team where input is valued, regardless of title or tenure, is refreshing. Everyone was brought to the table for a reason, and our diverse backgrounds, questions, ideas, and ways of processing information has led to great discussion and solutions. 3. 👪Join a community, not just a company. Looking back, so much of my transformation is thanks to unwavering support, continuous training, and a culture of empowerment at Compass. Embracing challenges, pushing boundaries, and striving for excellence are daily endeavors, where failures are learning opportunities and wins are celebrated. It is crazy to realize I belong among this talented team and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to continue to grow here. AND, who knows? Maybe in three more years, I'll be running the place? (Just kidding… give me at least another ten.)

Today I’m celebrating my 30th work anniversary at Nestlé. When looking at my career, people usually refer to my “humble beginnings”, which I’m very proud of. However, my Supply Chain journey didn’t start when I joined Nestlé at the age of 20, or even in my previous employer, a truck dealership. Coincidentally, my father was a truck driver for many years, and I was blessed with the opportunity to join him in unforgettable trips when I was a teenager. Loading, unloading, and even driving his truck (always the best part!) provided me with initial insights about the exciting world of logistics and its challenges. Besides that, I learned so many values from him, especially the importance of Integrity and Hard Work, that allowed me to grow at a very early stage of my life, personally and professionally. From joining this great company as an intern in a warehouse (memorable experiences doing case picking and driving forklifts!), to be leading today Supply Chain in one of its largest operations, was only possible thanks to all incredible teams and some amazing leaders that I had the privilege to work with, and I’m very grateful to them. Nevertheless, the person who has been always by my side during most of my tenure at Nestlé was my wife, Doris Vega. Being a Nestlé expat herself when we first met, she was the one motivating me to initiate my international career, even if that would sacrifice her own. Similarly, after doing her MBA at IE Business School, she also encouraged me to do the same, knowing that working as Head of Supply Chain and studying at that outstanding, yet demanding school, would limit significantly the time I could spent with our family, with a newborn. During the last 20 years, Doris has been always supporting and challenging me to become a better version of myself at every new assignment. True, 30 years is a very long time! When I regularly get the question “why do I stay that long in the same company” the answer is pretty much straightforward, since who would not like to work for the largest (and best) food & beverage company in the world, while continuously having opportunities for professional development and growth? Now, if asked how I got where I am today, the credit really goes to my dad & wife.
