Often, those in management positions aren't equipped to have difficult conversations to deal with disciplinary matters. This can be before they become serious or when they have escalated. In fact, most managers don't receive any formal training. That's where our Highly Effective Manager Program comes in. 6 months, 6 modules and a small cohort of managers to support and learn together. TKB: Influence, be aware of your influence as an expert! Last week we gathered with almost a 1000 colleagues to share knowledge & good ideas. This time I did a subsession presentation about Influence: how can you share your valuable ideas and expert solutions with colleagues, customers and the rest of the world? The basis of my story was a training by Adam Fidler for IMA (Association of International Management Assistants), who inspired me hugely some years ago. Be aware of what you can contribute to make this world a better place.

What does it take to implement Operational Excellence in your district?
Here’s what a typical engagement looks like: 1️⃣ Op Ex Education Day 1: A highly engaging and interactive session introducing the foundations of Operational Excellence, including Lean Six Sigma, 5S, and Systems Thinking. Participants take part in hands-on activities and collaborative exercises to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. Day 2: We dive into Active Implementation, applying tools and skills to real-world school and district challenges. The day ends with participants identifying and prioritizing pilot projects, based on impact and urgency. 2️⃣ Coaching Participants work on their prioritized projects with guidance from our team. We provide timely observations and actionable suggestions to ensure projects stay on track and deliver measurable outcomes. 3️⃣ Kaizen Event During the coaching period, we return to facilitate an intensive Kaizen event focused on solving one or more high-priority challenges. These events deliver immediate, high-impact solutions that create lasting change. The Kaizen event is also a learning session where participants and observers are taught the Kaizen methodology, so they can replicate it for future challenges. 4️⃣ Optional Continued Services Expanded Training & Coaching: Scale the success by equipping additional staff with Operational Excellence tools. Specialized Support: For complex challenges, we offer deeper involvement, including advanced problem analysis and hands-on support, such as Deep-Dives with district leaders, where together we conduct targeted reviews to uncover hidden inefficiencies and new opportunities for improvement. Extended Follow-Up Services: Quarterly onsite visits with participants to identify and prioritize future projects, facilitate improvements, and provide actionable recommendations. The Results In just a few weeks, your district’s leaders and staff are empowered with the tools, strategies, and confidence to create sustainable improvements—saving time, reducing costs, and improving the overall experience for students and staff alike. Ready to transform your district? Let’s talk! #OperationalExcellence #EducationLeadership #KaizenEvents #LeanSixSigma #ContinuousImprovement

Having DBS/Lean tools, training, and systems is not enough. The benefit of Standards, Standard Work and DBS expands immensely when we have a strong Say/Do culture. A culture of Discipline to Standards. When anyone, especially a leader, fails to follow or reinforce a standard, the consequences ripple out further than they think. As Billie Peavler, one of the best managers I've had, taught me, "The standard you walk away from, is the new 'standard' you just set." Our FLL-205 Discipline to Standards class within our Frontline Leadership Program at Cytiva Hyclone Laboratories, Inc. is all about understanding the importance of, obstacles to, and actions needed to improve our leadership's discipline to standards. Some feedback from graduates of this class over the last 6 months: "Please keep doing this, It's very effective and impactful." "Love the focus on process rather than just results." "A great opportunity for me to reflect on the results of my own say/do ratio." "Looking forward to shaking up the way we do things in my department." Objectives from the course: - Understand that a "Standard" is so much more than a piece of paper. - Discipline is a habit, a learnable skill, and overcoming the obstacles of aptitude and attitude on your team starts with you. I'm so grateful to work in an organization that genuinely invests in the development and benefit of their people and culture.

Engaging in teaching and sharing within the vast and deep field of supply chain management has been a source of immense enthusiasm and energy for continuous learning. By teaching and sharing our knowledge, we are driven to delve deeper into various theories and concepts, and apply them practically in our professional work. This process not only enhances our own understanding but also allows us to refine and test these theories in real-world scenarios. The wisdom and best practices we gain are then shared comprehensively and with high quality when we teach supply chain management. The first step to balance our professional development with our Internal Training Leadership Team is to assess our own needs and goals. What are the skills and knowledge gaps that we want to fill? What are the learning outcomes that we want to achieve? How do they align with our TTT roles and responsibilities? By answering these questions, we can prioritize our learning activities and set realistic and measurable objectives.
