The Silent Struggle: Lending a Voice to Mental Health Over time, I dedicate part of my free time to conducting health talks, leveraging my professional background to address relatable topics and pressing issues. This initiative is driven by a belief in the transformative power of knowledge and empowerment. Recently, the stark reality of mental health challenges became apparent to me following a session I conducted on mental wellness for a group of women in my local community. The encounter was eye-opening, highlighting the sheer number of individuals in dire need of support. What struck me most was the pervasive stigma surrounding mental health, a phenomenon that is not limited to my immediate surroundings but is a global concern. The session was meant to be a straightforward discussion on health, yet it unveiled the silent struggles many endure, encapsulated by the phrase “suffering and smiling,” by a renowned past artist The personal stories shared with me since then have been both enlightening and deeply moving. This newfound awareness has ignited a passion within me to raise awareness, and to assist more people in finding the help they need. It’s crucial to dispel the myths that prevent people from seeking necessary and timely assistance. Going forward, I will contribute my quota by giving more attention to this in my spare time. The significance of this issue knows no bounds—it impacts families, children, and indeed, the workplace is not immune. Your colleagues may well be navigating these challenges silently. People need help and they are all around us - we can make a difference; one person at a time. #YourMentalHealthMatters
