📢 Fantastic News: Our Paper on Aicardi Syndrome is Published! 🙌 This is another outstanding collaborative project with my amazing colleagues in #pediatric #epileptology at Universitätsklinikum Heidelberg (UKHD) Universität Heidelberg ! I’m excited to announce that our study, “Systematic #quantitative #modeling of the #NaturalHistory of #AicardiSyndrome”, was published today in the Orphanet Journal of Rare Diseases! In this work, we analyzed key aspects of Aicardi syndrome, a rate #neurogenetic disorder almost exclusively affecting girls. We systematically looked at disease onset, survival, diagnostic delays, phenotypic features, neuroradiological and ophthalmological findings, as well as the geographical localization of 245 patients. Our findings provide valuable quantitative data to raise #awareness of this rare condition, help #counselling afflicted families, and lay the foundation for future #ClinicalTrials.
