Redefining Work: Gifts, not money only, for Women's Empowerment in Africa As a gender specialist leading a non-profit, I constantly encounter a critical question: how do you empower a woman who has faced immense hardship, now raising her children, without immediate financial promises or equipment donations? Through experience, we've discovered a powerful solution: the "gift-centered approach." We guide women and young girls in discovering their unique talents and how these gifts can positively impact themselves, their families, and their communities. Our organization has demonstrated the ability to achieve impactful outcomes even when working with women from diverse educational backgrounds Our African communities often expect individuals to simply accept whatever work they find, neglecting the importance of self-discovery and purpose. Though we all know that real sucess comes from that alignment. As changemakers, I believe we must champion a new vision of education and work. Real education and personal development should not remain in limited access for a few people. This is especially crucial for women and girls who have overcome significant obstacles and are still living in poverty. As we continue to refine our advocacy efforts, we aim to secure increased donor support for personal development initiatives alongside existing education and income-generating activities. Happy belated workers day LTL #GiftCenteredWomenEmpowerment #WomenAndWork #SustainableDevelopmentGoals #EmpoweringCommunities

If women's empowerment is something you care about, you need to check this out! https://lnkd.in/eUNCYVN8 Learning about some of the issues that women confront in the different countries UPI supports has been a hard pill to swallow... Many girls in developing countries face challenges of poor access to education, inadequate health care, early marriage and motherhood, domestic violence, and a lack of employment opportunities. There are bold women from these places who are focusing on solutions to spark hope in young girls navigating these circumstances. UPromise100 seeks to fund organizations started by female alumni of the program that I am leading, specifically to fund female-focused programs internationally. The $100,000 raised annually will be used to fund UrbanPromise International programs that seek to support, educate, empower, protect and care for girls and female teenagers. I want to challenge you to do 2 things: 1. Follow this page 2. Consider making a donation and join UPromise100. A small gift can transform a life!

Did you know YOU can help provide safe spaces for vulnerable women in Aruba? Read on to learn how ⬇️ 🏠 We recently kicked off a powerful initiative in the district of San Nicolas called “La Sala”. La Sala will help us further support women who work in the sex industry—women who deserve dignity, respect, and protection. 🌸 The Mission: La Sala aims to provide a permanent shelter where these women can find safety, support, and resources. Through fundraising, we plan on purchasing a building that will serve as a sanctuary for those who often face vulnerability and exploitation. 🌎 How You Can Help: 1. This International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls, let's do something specific for change. At The Baytree Centre, we witness the horrific impact of violence on women and girls. We see how support, education, and community can bring transformation. 📸 Our photo captures a Baytree Moment :) Ksenia Gorenstein, our Comms Manager, evaluating with one of the The Baytree Centre's girls the photos they took today. This embodies Baytree's mission of empowering women and girls, building confidence, and providing a safe space for growth. 💡 Why support Baytree? Your investment goes beyond charity—it fires a movement: - Mentoring and coaching for personal progress. - Skills training for independence. - A safe and nurturing place for those in need. This International Day, stand with us against violence and invest in women and girls. Join us in: - Donating to fund life-changing programs. - Partnering with us to share skills and create opportunities. - Volunteering to mentor and empower women. 💬 We can end violence and create a world where every woman and girl thrives. Your support matters. #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #WomenEmpowerment #InvestInWomen #Charity #SocialImpact

This week marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism, a global campaign dedicated to raising awareness about gender-based violence (GBV) and advocating for change. With statistics like one in three women in South Africa experiencing violence in their lifetime, it’s clear that action is needed now more than ever. The campaign isn’t just about awareness—it’s about creating tangible change in the lives of survivors and challenging the systems that allow violence to continue. For NPOs committed to tackling GBV, the fight is long, but together we can make a lasting impact. At Forefront Leadership, we provide comprehensive consultancy services to help organizations strengthen their programs, secure funding, and build sustainable initiatives. Let’s work together this 16 Days of Activism and beyond to build a future where violence is no longer tolerated. **16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence** is an annual international campaign launched by @UN Women. It starts on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and ends on December 10, Human Rights Day. I'm participating and supporting @Rivina Foundation—a global foundation founded by human rights advocate and lawyer @Anna Rivina, which helps Russian-speaking women in emigration who are facing violence. Any woman—from Canada to Tanzania—can get free consultations from crisis psychologists and access legal guidance in her country. She can find out her rights and what kind of support she can receive from local police or activists. Today, I’m helping the Rivina Foundation raise funds to continue its work in 2025. I am ready to share my time and connections: I’m offering a package of three consultations on any topic—whether personal or related to fundraising—along with introductions to the right people, in exchange for a donation of €2000 to the foundation. How to sign up: — submit a request here by December 10:https://lnkd.in/eF98NSmW — receive a message from the foundation team — make a donation — get my contact info to arrange everything The funds raised will go toward the work of crisis psychologists who provide counseling for women, legal professionals, and the foundation's team. I believe that economic well-being and financial independence are impossible for women without psychological and physical security. If you want to support women in emigration, just like I do, you can also make a donation via this link: https://lnkd.in/eBg7DMvP
