This week is Air Ambulance Week, so we wanted to highlight the life-saving work of our selected charity partner, Air Ambulance Northern Ireland. On average, the air ambulance is called out 14 times a week in Northern Ireland and taskings have risen by 50 this year compared to 2023. These incredible crews bring the expertise of a hospital right to the scene of an emergency, performing complex medical procedures when every second counts. Anyone, anywhere, could need this service at any time. To keep this critical service airborne, Air Ambulance NI needs to raise £6,850 every single day from fundraising. By becoming a supporter today, you can help save lives tomorrow. Join as a ‘Club AANI member’ for just £8 a month and help make a real difference. It's Air Ambulance Week 🚁 Air ambulances provide crucial, life-saving services, rapidly responding to emergencies and transporting patients to the care they need. However, to continue operating effectively, these vital services rely heavily on public donations. Here’s why your support is essential: 🔴Rapid response: air ambulances can reach remote or difficult-to-access areas quickly, ensuring timely medical intervention. 🔴 Advanced medical equipment: keeping helicopters equipped with the latest medical technology requires significant funding. 🔴 Training: maintaining skilled medical and aviation staff is costly, but their expertise is critical in emergencies. 🔴 Operational costs: from fuel to maintenance, running air ambulances incurs substantial expenses. Your donations help ensure that air ambulances can continue to save lives when every second counts. Please consider supporting if you are able. https://lnkd.in/eN9dc2Ch

Air Ambulance charities are often asked: How do I request an air ambulance? 🚁 When you call your local emergency number, emergency dispatchers are trained to determine the most suitable response, which may include dispatching an air ambulance if necessary based on the patient's condition and location. 📞 #Didyouknow #AirAmbulancesUK #AirAmbulance

Air Ambulance charities are often asked: Do you fly patients to hospital? 🚁 Occasionally, when flying is deemed the quickest and most suitable method of hospital transfer, Air Ambulance charities utilise the helicopter for patient transportation. Air Ambulance charities often opt to transfer patients in ground ambulances. This allows the crew to maintain close monitoring and provide ongoing specialised care during the journey to the hospital. 🚑 #didyouknow #AirAmbulancesUK #AirAmbulances

As air ambulance charities in the UK perform over 70 lifesaving missions daily, the potential of eVTOL technology to revolutionise these services becomes increasingly apparent. By offering cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and more accessible emergency transport, eVTOL aircraft could significantly enhance the reach and efficiency of air ambulance operations. With lower operational costs, zero emissions, reduced noise pollution, and the ability to access challenging locations, eVTOL air ambulances promise a future where rapid emergency medical transport is more sustainable and widely available. This transition could mark a new era in emergency medical care, potentially saving more lives across the UK and beyond. #eVTOL #AirAmbulance #FutureOfEmergencyServices #SustainableAviation #UAMM #UAM #smartcites #AAM Air Service World Congress
Air ambulance charities collectively make over 45,000 lifesaving missions each year across the UK. A number of our team have been raising money to mark Air Ambulance Week, and at Vertical we are proud to be pioneering electric aviation, which one day could support the vital work of these charities.

This is my brother-in-law, Yitzi Feldman. We're volunteer EMTs with Hatzalah of Baltimore. On our first ever emergency call together, we saved a choking baby. Since then, we've been on many calls together - even saving a few more lives. These days, we don't always ride together. Why? Because Yitzi is usually around at night, while I'm available during the day. That's the beauty of Hatzalah. Hatzalah is an all-volunteer service, with over 50 EMTs, paramedics and doctors on call 24/7. We have 5 ambulances that are always fully-stocked. We carry portable radios and are dispatched immediately, with an average on-scene time of under 3 minutes. This model of emergency care means Yitzi and I don't see each other as often. But when we do, we're always happy to be there. Because saving lives is what we're here for. ----- We're running our annual fundraiser to cover operating costs. As a fully-volunteer service, none of us get paid. This money goes directly to operational costs, such as keeping the ambulance behind me fully stocked. Please consider donate. Every dollar saves. https://lnkd.in/gT_Z5NA
