Great to work with a friendly, skilled and collaborative team across Australia-France-Netherlands! 🧐The purpose of this study was to scope the current criteria used by physiotherapists to return patients to running following ACL injury? What did we find: ❗️Majority of respondents use - swelling < grade 1+ - LSI > 70% for hop and strength tests - Pain between 0-3/10 While we identified the above criteria, there was a real lack of more comprehensive testing criteria that seemed mixed across countries highlighting the inadequacy of current return to running criteria. Given biomechanical running loads are similar to cutting, we think it’s imperative to develop specific return to running criteria to setup a successful rehab journey following ACL injury. Proud of this international Australian-French-Dutch teamwork! It has become clear we need to better define when an #ACL patient is ready to return to running. First step towards new clinical studies. I'm looking forward to working with these guys again! Thanks Tim Sayer, Alexandre RAMBAUD & Jerome Riera for all effort put into this paper and to Rob Bogie MD PhD, Jeremy Jackson, Adam Bryant, Nick Cross and Pascal Edouard for helping in putting this important info onto paper!
