[2/3] 🔍 Did you know? Smart TV users keep their devices for 6-7 years on average - far longer than mobile phones. This creates a unique challenge in the Connected TV space. Our Head of Quality Engineering, Martin Tyler, recently joined the LambdaTest Experience (XP) Series podcast to discuss our approach to solving these challenges. This is the second of a three-part series sharing insights from the episode. How do you ensure quality across: ▫ Multiple operating systems ▫ Various hardware specifications ▫ Different browser versions ▫ Locked-down environments We've learned this firsthand whilst building streaming apps for major platforms. The traditional web/mobile testing playbook simply doesn't work here. 👉 Watch the full podcast episode to find how we are tackling these challenges: https://lnkd.in/d6cYwEnb #ConnectedTV #QualityEngineering #CTVTesting #TVApps

Recently, I had the opportunity to present three different variations of my talk on "Performance for TV" at various events. It’s always great to see the enthusiasm and curiosity from the audience! Here are the top questions I get asked frequently: 1. Optimization Techniques: How do you ensure a smooth user experience on TV apps? 2. Memory Management: What strategies can be used to handle memory limitations on TV devices? 3. Debugging Tools: Which tools and methods are best for debugging performance issues on TV platforms? I will be sharing some thoughts over the next few days trying to address the above and more. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want to discuss more! #ReactNative #TVApps #Performance #TechTalk #DeveloperCommunity

New scan mode way: Fast and Broadcast mode. Advantage: no need to swtich between fast to broadcast frequently if customers have multiple apps. Just choose fast and broadcast option, then all is ok and convenient to use. #handheld terminal #scanning mode #barcode scanning

[3/3] 🎯 We took a different approach to quality assurance: Visual-First Testing Our Head of Quality Engineering, Martin Tyler, spoke at the LambdaTest Experience (XP) Series podcast to discuss how we're revolutionising CTV testing with a visual-first approach. This is the third part of a three-part series highlighting the key insights of the talk. Instead of relying on traditional DOM elements or XPaths, we built a framework that: ▫ Uses computer vision to identify elements ▫ Compares actual screens against design specs ▫ Works across a wide range of devices and platforms ▫ Scales to 300,000 automated tests monthly The result? We can now detect issues that traditional testing would miss - like shader rendering differences across different TV models. 👉 Watch the full podcast episode to learn more: https://lnkd.in/d6cYwEnb #QualityAssurance #TestAutomation #QualityEngineering #CTVTesting #ConnectedTV #TVApps

Operating Systems Climb Competitive Agenda For TV Makers. TV makers have adopted different approaches to the OS, some developing their own, while others adopt a platform such as Google TV or Amazon Fire TV. But all rely increasingly on the OS for competitive differentiation of the UI, navigation, and in some cases for reaching out to other devices in the “smart home”. https://buff.ly/3NMR3bN

🌟 Understanding Dependency Injection (DI) 🌟 Dependency Injection (DI) is a design pattern that promotes loose coupling by providing an object’s dependencies externally, rather than creating them itself. This enhances flexibility and simplifies testing. Example: Think of a universal remote controlling multiple devices (TV, DVD, streaming). The remote (DI) handles connections between devices, letting you switch easily between them without reconfiguring each one. DI makes systems more adaptable, allowing easy addition or replacement of components without disrupting the whole system. Embrace DI for cleaner, maintainable code! 💡✨ #DependencyInjection #DesignPatterns #CleanCode #SoftwareDevelopment
