Two #pickleball player rating systems have come to the forefront now that #USAPickleball have phased out their UTPR system. Instead, they've partnered with UTR Sports, a newcomer to pickleball with a lauded history in tennis. UTR will manage ratings for USAP-sanctioned events, tournaments, leagues, and recreational activities. This news comes just a week after #DUPR, the other prevalent rating system, announced a similar partnership with UPA (the newly formed entity overseeing the #PPATour and #MajorLeaguePickleball). It is good to see USAP ripping the band aid off and making a decision to go with something other than UTPR. However, it feels like we are in for another battle with UPA siding with DUPR and now USAP choosing to go with UTR.
