Christmas events cancelled amid weather warning Is winter weather ruining your Christmas plans? Kent has been hit with heavy rain and high winds this weekend, leading to the cancellation of many festive events. Folkestone Town Council, for instance, postponed their Christmas lights switch-on due to safety concerns. Originally planned for Guildhall Street, it was set to be a vibrant event with school choirs, live music, and even a celebrity guest. The decision was guided by one key priority: public safety, particularly given the large number of children involved and the adverse weather conditions forecasted. Similarly, the Festive Market meant to take place on Folkestone's Harbour Arm has also been called off, though indoor businesses remain open. Dover's Christmas light switch-on in Deal didn't fare any better, with high winds forcing its cancellation. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for southern Kent, predicting gales to last until Sunday evening. Despite these setbacks, not all is lost! Ashford's Carnival of Baubles parade has been modified, now taking place in indoor locations with a festive Bauble Illumination Station in County Square. Ramsgate continues with indoor activities, including a Santa's grotto and an elf trail in shop windows. Paddock Wood's Lights Up event has been postponed to December 8th, but the town centre will still be aglow for a "trial run" this weekend. As we navigate these cancellations and postponements, we can still find ways to keep the festive spirit alive. Share your thoughts below or tell us how you're adapting to these changes. As Victoria Day approaches, I'm reminded of the profound history behind this holiday and its namesake, Queen Victoria. She was a powerful figure whose reign shaped an era. And you know what? We can learn a lot about marketing from royalty. Here's how I apply Victorian strategies to reign supreme in Toronto's real estate market: 👑 *Be Majestic in Your Mission*: Just like Queen Victoria stood for progress during her time, stand for something significant in your niche. For us, it's about serving the nuanced needs of seniors, estate sales, and power of sales with dignity and respect. 🏛️ *Build an Empire through Relationships*: Real estate is a kingdom built on trust. Nurture relationships as if you're uniting a realm – caring for each client's unique journey, whether they're selling the family homestead or seeking a peaceful estate to retire in. 🎩 *Celebrate Tradition & Innovation*: Royal highnesses honor customs while also embracing change. Blend traditional marketing methods with cutting-edge tech to give your clients a service that's both time-honored and cutting-edge. 🤝 *Form Alliances*: Queens and kings don't reign alone. They have a network of loyalties. Forge partnerships with other businesses that share your audience - maybe moving services, estate lawyers or financial advisors for seniors - to extend your realm of influence. 🍁*Mark Your Territory with Joy*: Holidays bring people together and so should your brand. Use Victoria Day not just for promotion, but as a way to connect with your community – hold an open house with a Victorian tea party theme, or share tips on incorporating Victorian elegance into home décor. This Victoria Day, let's not just celebrate a holiday – let's channel our inner monarchs and make marketing a royal affair. 👑✨ Tell me, how are you infusing some regal might into your real estate marketing this season? #VictoriaDay #RealEstateMarketing #TorontoRealEstate #SeniorLiving #CommunityBuilding
