Helping this Vietnam War Paratrooper and his amazing wife level up their incredible stories helps me heal myself and find more relevance in my life. I'm so grateful to all the Vietnam War Military Community Members who've held space for me and mentored me over the years. Helping them put their stories into the world is just one small way of saying "THANK YOU!" theheroesjourney.org #storytelling #welcomehome #vietnamvets

It's important to remember the difference between #MemorialDay, #VeteransDay, and #ArmedForcesDay. Remembering the difference makes our military community feel understood and helps civilians be mindful of sensitive days. #AcusFoundation #MemorialDay

Veterans Day Today is Veterans Day, commemorating Armistice Day at the end of World War I. There are 15.8 million veterans alive in the US today, a figure representing 6.1% of the adult US population. Veterans have served during wartime and in peacetime, with roughly one-third having served in the Vietnam War, one-quarter in the Gulf War, and 28% serving since 9/11. The percentage of veterans alive today who served in World War II is less than 0.2%. While the vast majority of veterans are US citizens, citizenship is not a prerequisite for enlistment; as of 2015, noncitizens made up less than 1% of veterans. There are no known living veterans from World War I; the last known US soldier from that war was laid to rest in 2007.

A history you might want to read.
Retired Police Officer, Veteran Advocate, Documentary Film Producer & Author of the books, "The Giant Killer" and "Giant Killers, War Heroes & Special Forces Legends"
United Kingdom Special Forces Hero! Scotsman John McAleese is one of the UK’s most decorated soldiers of all time. He’s one of the rare SAS soldiers who saw fame while serving, as the world watched the UK’s response to terrorists taking over the Iranian Embassy in London. For six days, the British government lay siege to the embassy. On the sixth day, they killed a hostage and the SAS were called in. The world watched live as McAleese and his blue team followed the red team into the embassy by blowing their way into a first-floor window. In 17 minutes, the SAS killed all but one of the terrorists, losing only one hostage. McAleese also served in the Falklands War and earned medals fighting the Irish Republican Army during the Troubles. The book, "Giant Killers, War Heroes and Special Forces Legends" honors these incredible war heroes making sure their stories of valor and sacrifice are never forgotten. The book is available now on Amazon. God Bless our Vets! #unitedkingdom #UKSAS #scotland #UnitedKingdommilitary #Military #specialforces #team #london
