Businesses in Australia are increasingly recognising the need to prioritise the fundamentals of digital security. However there is a clear irony in the fact that, despite global recognition of the ongoing issues with passwords and credentials, too many organisations still fail to address this fundamental risk - the most basic Identity and Access Management (IAM) safeguard. In fact, Crowdstrike reports that in 2023 4/5 breaches globally involved identity and compromised credentials, while another study pins “75% of breaches are caused by mismanaged identity, access, or privileges.” #UseLastPass

It's #TipTuesday time! I hope you find these useful, for yourself or as info to pass along to your cyber colleagues to help boost the security for your identity foundation. If you do, slide on over to the Semperis website and sign up for Hybrid Identity Protection Conference (New Orleans, November 13-14) where you'll be able to bathe in expert knowledge just like this. #ActiveDirectory #ADSecurity
It's important to know that users, groups, or computer objects with Read/Write or equivalent permissions on the computer object associated with Entra ID Connect in #ActiveDirectory can pose a serious threat. An attacker who gains control over an object with an SPN configured or the ability to add a new machine account to the domain and who has Write permissions on the Entra ID Connect computer object could use a Resource-Based Constrained Delegation (#RBCD) attack to gain code execution on your Entra ID Connect server. Do you know how many attack paths might be available to your #EntraID Connect server? It’s worth checking out with our free tool Forest Druid. Download it here: https://lnkd.in/dprj2eFV #TipTuesday
