🗣 “There is still something in getting the basics right, firstly remove as many needles as you can from your own haystack, then make the adversary move as much hay as they possibly can in finding those needles that are out there”.   At CYBERUK 2024, Commander National Cyber Force (NCF), Air Vice Marshal Tim Neal-Hopes spoke at the ‘Future Threats Plenary’ on Building Resilience Across Crises, Conflict, and Competition. I found this very insightful, the panel are excellent and gives some very interesting thoughts about cyber and technology in the future and the lessons that are being learned from the Ukraine conflict. Some interesting points and things to consider.

It was an honor for Marion Konnerth to participate in the 'Zero Trust Architecture and Technologies’ panel at NATO Edge 2024. 🗣️ She talked about the evolving landscape of cybersecurity and its strategic importance to global defense. Here are the key takeaways ⤵️ ➡️ Complexity of modern infrastructures: As we navigate the interconnectedness of modern systems, the growing attack surface is undeniable. Securing these infrastructures requires innovative approaches like Zero Trust, which assumes no user or device is inherently trustworthy. ➡️ Relevance of Perimeter Defense: While ZTA emphasizes internal segmentation and continuous verification, perimeter security remains a cornerstone. The principle of segmentation is critical to reducing attack vectors, ensuring that even if one layer is compromised, others can contain the breach. ➡️ Challenges in the Pacific region: Protecting the Pacific region is increasingly difficult due to the speed at which decision-makers need critical information. A major hurdle is the lack of Information Exchange Gateways (IEGs) between NATO allies. These gaps must be addressed urgently to stay ahead of threats.
