As we step into the festive season, timing in logistics feels more crucial than ever. Thanks to the recent tentative agreement at U.S. ports, we’ve managed to save Christmas from major disruptions, ensuring stockings will be filled and holiday cheer delivered on time. This calculated pause isn’t just a temporary fix, it’s a chance to address and redefine our strategies for future success, extending the labor contract until January 15, 2025. While the agreement has brought relief, we might still see a few package delays—after all, even Santa can hit a bit of traffic on Christmas Eve. As we are now into December, and with just a few weeks to go until the festive break, we would like to make you aware of our order deadlines and office closures 🎄 Our team will be taking a well-earned break over Christmas, so please take a moment to note our adjusted opening hours and delivery capabilities. 🎅 Tuesday the 17th of December 🔔 Last day of despatch for delivery before the festive period on our economy service. 🔔 Friday the 20th of December ☃️ Last day of despatch for delivery before the festive period on a premium (customer must be open all day on Monday 23rd) ☃️ Festive Period Full Opening Hours 🎅 Closed from mid-day Tuesday 24th December – Re-opens Thursday 2nd January – Normal opening hours resumed. Deliveries between the festive period: While there will be no dispatches between 23rd December and 1st January, deliveries can still be made by our haulage partner during this period. However, please be advised that office support for these deliveries will be very limited. It’s that time of year…holiday parties and festive cheer abound…folks are starting to sign off for a few days of well deserved down-time…and just like clock work, one other “tale as old as time” creeps into the frame: the ole “procurement-led RFI/RFP process for some non-urgent, non-critical project that won’t even be reviewed until mid January” - DUE 12/24. Three short words: DON’T DO THAT. Everyone knows as a professional services provider, many WILL answer the call. Many won’t - but the real question is: why do this at all? It basically proves you don’t respect your vendor partners - but also it makes the issuing organization look bad. I’m sure someone can come up with an example of when this is absolutely necessary - but for the 99.9% of the rest of the situations - let’s agree that this practice should be made extinct in 2024. I’ll drink to that!
