We have Latch in our building. For the most part, it is a decent system. It used to work great! However, there has been a glitch in the app that causes it to close when you try to add more than one email in the “manage guests”tab (maintenance, guests etc.). Specifically, you can no longer cut and paste the guest’s email into the app (to improve accuracy) because it closes the window and literally stsrts all over. FOR MORE THAN A YEAR I’ve been working with customer service to get this fixed so that it would function as it did before. Our building is 100% Airbnb apartments so being able to assign access with high accuracy (not manual entry of information) is important. We have over 10,000 guests per year that need assigned access, which now must be manually entered. “Engineering” fixed it once, but the next update of the app caused the fix to go away, so it lasted only 2 weeks. I have continued to check on progress, but clearly “glitch fixing” is not a priority, For this reason, I would not recommend LATCH. It shouldn’t take a year to fix a simple issue (it was fixed once!) and make sure that future iterations of app updates include the fix. If you’re an IT company, the IT needs to be reliable.
