Narges Emami and Matthew Ahearn gave an excellent presentation at the TAPPI FlexPack PLACE 2024 conference https://lnkd.in/emW89Teb. They described how recent barrier coatings can be used on non-oriented PE films, when the film composition and process conditions have been designed for such applications. PolyExpert • Polyethylene Films reported on its use of three technologies on its films to obtain recyclable barrier films, while Henkel demonstrated the performance of a new coating enabling even higher oxygen barriers to be achieved. This entire study would not have been possible without the commitment of Guido Kollbach and Nina Arnold from Henkel and Barry Cousins from Quadra Chemicals.
