Fun fact: before the muon was discovered and called the muon, it was briefly called the yukon, after theoretical physicist Hideki Yukawa predicted its existence. Today, Ideon Technologies is pleased to confirm successful activation of of a muon tomography imaging program at the Fireweed Metals (Lundin Group) MacMillan Pass (Macpass) project in Yukon Territory, Canada. Our new REVEAL™ for Exploration solution is being applied at Macpass to map density at metre-scale resolution over a volume of 1 billion m3 during the winter season. The goal is to identify and map new targets for drill-testing during Fireweed’s summer 2025 exploration campaign. This is the world’s first borehole muon tomography system deployment north of 60° latitude. The Macpass project hosts several large zinc-lead-silver deposits within the 940 km2 property and is now recognized as one of the world’s largest undeveloped primary zinc districts. We are incredibly fortunate and grateful to be working with Jack Milton and team on this initiative, which will help Fireweed Metals identify high-priority drill targets without extensive exploratory drilling, improving the cost-efficiency of drilling out deposits in our short seasons on-site, and maximizing chances of exploration success. #lowimpactmining #criticalminerals #yukonmining #miningexploration #miningnews https://lnkd.in/g2fdWyKK

CAMP GOSSANS. Mt Oxide - Priority Exploration Target. Results return strongly anomalous copper, 1.2km along strike from Vero. A systematic mapping and rock chip campaign at the Camp Gossans Prospect has returned strongly anomalous copper-cobalt zones. Camp Gossans is part of the larger Dorman Fault Mineral System, a +10km long trend that hosts Vero. The potential for a large-scale deposit is indicated from the mapped strike length and widths of mineralisation. True North Copper’s Managing Director, Marty Costello said: “Camp Gossans is a high priority 2024 exploration target at our Mt Oxide Project. We believe it holds exceptional discovery potential. Mapping and rock chip sampling identified highly anomalous copper and cobalt zones. The footprint and geochemical results at Camp Gossans are also similar in size, mineralisation style and geochemical anomalism to the discovery outcrops at Esperanza and Esperanza South, which have produced significant copper at the Capricorn Copper Project that lies 25kms to the south. Despite significant historical investment by previous Mt Oxide owners at the Vero Resource, multiple prospects including Camp Gossans, have never been systematically explored or drill tested. Camp Gossans is now a confirmed TNC priority for geophysics programs and drilling in 2024. We look forward to sharing our progress and achievements as we venture into this exciting and transformative phase of production, development and exploration including commencing mining operations at our Cloncurry Copper Project, advancing our 2024 exploration program and developing Mt Oxide into our next mine.” You can read the full ASX Announcement here: https://lnkd.in/gb9JgucB You can also find our 2024 Exploration Program, that outlines all our priority exploration targets - here: https://lnkd.in/gYgiAPgm #tnc #ASX #mtoxide #mtisainlier #campgossans #mtisamining #cloncurrycopperproject #CCP #tnc2024explorationprogram #cloncurrymining

Optimizing Core Recovery in Mineral Exploration Core recovery is a fundamental parameter in mineral exploration, representing the percentage of core retrieved relative to the total drilled length. It plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of geological data, critical for accurate lithological analysis, stratigraphic interpretation, and resource estimation. High core recovery is essential for precise mineralization modeling, supporting informed decision-making in exploration and resource development. Core Recovery % calculated as: Core Recovery (%) = (Length of core / Length of run) × 100 While achieving 100% recovery is challenging, typical rates range from 80-100% in competent rock formations. In friable or unconsolidated formations like sands or clays, recovery may drop to 10-20%. Core recovery classifications are as follows: Very Good: 90-100% Good: 75-90% Fair: 50-75% Poor: 25-50% Very Poor: <25% Core Barrel Systems: Single, Double, and Triple Tube The choice of core barrel system significantly impacts recovery: Single Tube: Ideal for stable, hard rock formations, but may have lower recovery in loose or fractured formations due to limited core support. Double Tube: Offers better core support, minimizing loss, and is effective in medium to hard formations, especially in mineralized zones. Triple Tube: The most advanced, offering optimal core support, minimizing disturbance in loose or unconsolidated formations, essential for accurate resource evaluation. Factors Affecting Core Recovery Several geological and technical factors influence core recovery: Formation Type: Loose formations can cause core fragmentation or loss. Drilling Equipment: Proper drill bits, rods, and core barrels are vital for minimizing core loss. Core Washing: Excessive washing may degrade core quality, especially in mineralized zones. Drilling Parameters: Optimizing bit speed, feed rate, and drilling fluids helps reduce core loss. Vibration and String Stability: Instability or excessive vibration in the drill string can affect recovery. Core Size and Geological Analysis Larger core sizes improve geological analysis, offering better representation of mineralization. Common diamond core drilling sizes range from 44.45 mm (BWT) to 80.95 mm (HWT), though larger cores incur higher drilling costs. Conclusion Maximizing core recovery is essential for accurate geological data and reliable resource assessment. By selecting the right core barrel system and optimizing drilling parameters, teams ensure better recovery, leading to more successful exploration projects. #CoreRecovery #MineralExploration #Geology #CoreDrilling #SingleTube #DoubleTube #TripleTube #CoreBarrel #DrillingTechnology #ResourceEvaluation

$GRBM - #copper #nickel #titanium https://lnkd.in/gnX88Dr3 12 Month Exploration Plan Exploration Growth South Contact Zone: The Company believes that the presence of Oxidized Ultramafic Intrusions (OUIs) that are associated with copper-titanium±nickel mineralization represent a new style of exploration target that has been underexplored. Disseminated copper and/or nickel mineralized OUIs are present at the Skibo, Titac, and Boulder properties and will represent the primary target of the Company's exploration plans. The Company's initial efforts will be at the Titac property that has a NI43-101 Inferred Resource of 45.1Mt of 15% TiO2 (Cardero Resources Corp., 2012) hosted within an OUI that also contains significant disseminated copper mineralization. Historical intercepts from surface including 462m of 0.4% copper and 571.5m of 0.2% copper (including 145m of 0.4% Cu). Green Bridge plans to initially drill into Titac's mineralized system to expand upon the known resource and realize the full potential for copper mineralization. The Company will conduct a Versatile Time Domain Electromagnetics (VTEM) geophysical survey over the Titac-Boulder property to fingerprint the signature of Titac mineralization and apply that to Boulder, which has recognized titanium and copper mineralization within an OUI similar to Titac. The Company will also prioritize drill ready targets in the Wyman/Siphon property that has a historical Ni-Cu resource characterized by disseminated mineralization similar to that of the world class Mesaba and Maturi deposits. Exploration Growth Chrome Puddy: The Company plans to fly an airborne VTEM geophysical survey over the entire property to fingerprint the signature of the historical resource of 30Mt of 0.27% Ni (Commerce Nickel Mines Ltd., 1966) over a known mineralized trend over 2km; The Company believes there is potential for a 100Mt exploration target within the 2km trend that will be the primary focus of the first drill campaign at the project; The VTEM survey will help prioritize future drill targets based on the presence of conductors.
