Happy Apprenticeship Week! Did you know that since 2018, 190,915 people have completed a state-registered apprenticeship program, moving California closer to its goal of serving 500,000 apprentices by 2029? The state has made historic investments toward meeting this goal, including more than $221 million during the last fiscal year for apprenticeship initiatives that align industry and workforce needs and expand apprenticeships to new, in-demand careers. The Apprenticeship Innovation Fund program provided $41.7 million to scale and support apprenticeships in health care, information technology, education, transportation, agriculture, public service, and advanced manufacturing. Check out the proclamation by Governor Gavin Newsom.

Want to talk about #lifechanging? Having a career when exiting the #justicesystem is definitely that! We are working to develop #apprenticeshipprograms to provide training before the justice-involved even leave the system so they won't necessarily be returning to the same environment. These programs are top notch, and the employers who work with the programs are such a blessing! #apprenticeshipworks #NAW24 #secondchance

🎯 Stepped Outside My Comfort Zone: Public Speaking at My Old School! 📅 Last month, I had an amazing opportunity to go back to my alma mater, RMS, and speak to both current students and fellow alumni. Let me tell you, public speaking wasn't always my forte! But stepping outside my comfort zone was incredibly rewarding. 🌟 Sharing my experiences wasn't just about me – it was about leaving a mark. Connecting with those young minds, seeing their eagerness to learn, and realising the impact we can have as role models was truly special. ⁉ And guess what? I learned a lot too! Catching up with alumni, Ruby Williams and Lexie Crabtree, and seeing their journeys unfold was inspiring. There's so much we can gain by giving back to the community and younger generations. 📢 Calling all hesitant speakers! This is your sign to take the plunge. There are so many public speaking opportunities out there – schools, community events, mentorship programs. You have the power to inspire and connect. #PublicSpeaking #GivingBack #RMS #Community #GrowthMindset 💬 Let's keep the conversation going in the comments below!
