#JobSeeker - "It takes humility to seek feedback. "It takes wisdom to understand it, analyze it, and appropriately act on it." #StephenCovey I enjoy getting feedback like this one after a session or presentation; it reaffirms my commitment to my day-to-day work collaborations with many members from my network who listen, participate, or engage in the programming I promote. #Iammultifaceted I don't always have all the correct responses, and I am not always the right fit for someone going through a challenging career transition. Over the years, as a career coach, career enthusiast, and career manager, I have developed a unique #superpower: I don't take things personally. I love cheerful moments like this one, so I must share them! I have fantastic optimism, enthusiasm, and insightful career knowledge and tools that can lead to positive outcomes. I also have a tremendous network that values my work, but I can not do it for you; I work with you! Regardless of who you work with or what program you decide to participate in --> at the end of the day, it's up to YOU, the "job seeker" who is making the career change or seeking the next opportunity to put things to use and practice --> to finalize the transaction! Thank you, #MilSpouse, for sharing positive feedback; you also made my day. I'm glad we can collaborate and support you. If you wonder what I do, consider me a "#CareerBroker" or a "Brand Ambassador" who consistently identifies solutions, shares resources, and manages best practices. I am involved in various projects, and that's what makes me mul·ti·fac·et·ed #Followme4more #Bintentional #Connect. #BSFCareers #BSFSpouseforce #BSFSurvey #bsfwelcome #Militaryspouse #Nowhiring #applynow #miltiaryspouseemployment #military #career

First 6 months at new job. ↳ Win people. ↳ Learn Business. ↳ Understand Process. Next 6 months... ↳ Win Trust ↳ Become dependable ↳ Prove by performance Why people fail at a new workplace? ↳ They don't get along with people ↳ They boast of past achievements ↳ Start to highlight negative things too soon When you walk into a new company with a "Star" or "Hero" mindset... Remember that you joined after interval. More than half of the movie may be already gone. Someone else might be a superstar out there. Better not to be a "Hero" on Day one. Unless you were hired to play that part specifically. Start in a support character role. Even Sachin Tendulkar started his career by batting at number 7 in the One Day Internationals. Are you feeling stuck in your current role and eager for career advancement? As a coach, I once worked with Meera, an executive who felt trapped in her position. Meera was frustrated and demotivated, feeling her career had hit a dead end. We began by identifying her skill gaps, setting clear goals, and actively seeking feedback. Meera networked actively, attended industry events, and showed initiative by volunteering for challenging projects. Within a year, she was promoted to a senior role, her confidence and capabilities shining through. This transformation not only advanced her career but also reignited her passion for her work. Reflective Question: Are you taking proactive steps to bridge your skill gaps and expand your network which will help you to grow your career? #LeadershipGrowth #Ambition #Progress #CareerDevelopment

Career advancement in the military and private sectors may look different. But both environments require the same 3 things for success. Here’s what sets you up for promotions: #1 - Get s**t done #2 - Solve problems #3 - Be accretive to the culture you are working in Do those things, whether you're in the military or the private sector. You’ll never get bored. And it’s a surefire way to keep you growing on every level.

Last weekend, I had the privilege of hosting another session in our ongoing series for officers transitioning from the armed forces to corporate careers. Titled 'Empowering the Shift', this session was a hands-on follow-up to the first panel, Navigating the Shift. This time, our incredible panel returned to dive deeper into practical aspects - embracing a fresh start, building employability, targeted upskilling, personal branding, and more. A standout part of the conversation was addressing the often-overlooked topics of mental health and well-being, which are critical during such significant life transitions. ✅ Shilpa Gupta weaved a structured model that nudged the audience to think critically about their paths. ✅ Shafaque A. Shaikh brought unmatched energy and tied every insight back to real-world scenarios. ✅ Aji John Joseph shared life stories that resonated deeply, radiating positivity and optimism. ✅ Colonel Rahul Tyagi (Retired), P. spoke about creating a skill mind map, emphasising the importance of persistence, and delivered a powerful closing note, inspiring us to keep pushing forward. A big shout-out to Col. Amit Chander, who couldn’t join us as planned but contributed with his valuable insights ahead of time, shaping the session in meaningful ways. Another special mention to Col. K Joshil Raj, Ph.D for helping refine the narrative and to Lt. Col. Bhavana for her candid feedback that added depth to the discussion. For those who joined us, thank you for making it interactive and engaging - your thoughtful questions during the AMA made all the difference. 🚀 Calling all organisations: Please reach out if you are exploring hiring programs, internships, or roles for officers transitioning from armed forces. Let’s connect to explore how these talented individuals can be a great fit for your organisation. To those transitioning to corporate careers: Stay flexible, confident, and persistent. The journey isn’t always easy, but every step you take brings you closer to shaping your next chapter. And always remember to prioritise your well-being. Let’s keep this conversation alive. I recently delved into a thought-provoking article on navigating job transitions, and it resonated deeply with my own experiences. Transitioning careers or jobs can be both exciting and challenging, filled with uncertainties and new beginnings. The key is to embrace this change, acknowledge the learning curve, and harness the opportunities it brings. It's about crafting a clear path forward, staying adaptable, and utilizing your unique skills and experiences to thrive in your new role. Remember, transitions are moments of growth and transformation. Embrace them with confidence and openness. #JobTransition #CareerChange #ProfessionalGrowth #Adaptability #TTLO #nolimits

In the workplace, this can resonate deeply, especially during challenging times like job searches or career transitions. For example, imagine a colleague who has been diligently applying for new positions without success. Despite setbacks, they remain persistent, continuing to improve their skills and network with others in their industry. Eventually, their determination pays off when they receive an unexpected job offer from a company that aligns perfectly with their career goals. This exemplifies how perseverance and belief in oneself can lead to eventual success, encouraging others to stay resilient in their own professional journeys.

New Beginnings: The Journey Ahead Exactly one year from today, on October 27, I’ll be closing one chapter and opening another as I complete my six-year Army contract and transition back into the civilian workforce. But it’s much more than just starting a new job or career path—it’s a significant life change, filled with excitement and hope, but also late-night anxieties and uncertainty. The next 12 months will undoubtedly be a whirlwind of emotions. There’s the thrill of new opportunities ahead, but also the fear of the unknown that comes with stepping into something unfamiliar. And if there's one thing I’ve learned about myself, it’s that I struggle to fully live in the moment—to appreciate the here and now as more than just a fleeting tick on the clock. So, I’ve decided to share my journey with you as a way to tether myself to the present. Over the next year, I’ll be posting about the ups and downs of this transition: my DoD-SkillBridge search, followed by the job hunt, interview prep, moments of reflection, and everything in between. For me, this will be an exploration of memory and time—or more accurately put, an exercise in patience—but more importantly, I hope it will foster a sense of community for those who have gone through or are currently going through similar experiences. I’ll be sharing these insights twice a month, as Army obligations and time allow, and I invite you to join me for what will surely be an eventful year. If my journey resonates with you or sparks something within your own experiences, I’d love to hear from you. And of course, I welcome any Skillbridge recommendations and job referrals. Here’s to the road ahead. Let’s walk it together. #dodskillbridge #transitioningmilitary #networking #inspiration
