I enjoy listening to a variety of podcasts, both in French and English. One podcast I especially appreciate for its North American business-focused perspective is Learning Out Loud. The episode I listened to today on my way home from work was about 'The Purple Cow,' written by Seth Godin. (I have the book but haven't had the chance to read it yet, although I devoured 'This is Marketing,' which I read again from time to time.) ✨Seth Godin is an exceptional marketing expert, and in this particular episode, the focus is on transforming our businesses by being remarkable. Only remarkable products get discussed, and they use the brilliant example of Apple's recent launch, the Apple Vision Pro headset. Apple has always been synonymous with design excellence. Recently, they released just one headset (Apple Vision Pro), while Oculus (now Meta) has been producing headsets for 10 years with numerous product releases, yet none got as much attention as Apple's single headset. Apple prioritizes design, making their product remarkable, and they tell a compelling story, as they have done consistently with their products. 🚀However, Apple's competitors may benefit from Apple's ability to generate interest in a product category that might not be entirely new to the market, but becomes newly compelling due to Apple's attention. 🪄The key takeaways from this podcast episode are: - Average is not acceptable. - Create something remarkable; be the Purple Cow that stands out. - Avoid creating 'me too' products. - Begin by identifying your audience; start with a few, and the rest will follow. #marketing #brandmarketing #AppleVisionPro #Apple #SethGodin #LearningOutLoud #MixedReality
