🤼 Clash of Titans – Pardot vs. HubSpot Part I - Features For several years, we had been using Pardot (aka Account Engagement by Salesforce) at IDEA StatiCa and decided to replace it with HubSpot this January. Are you interested in what we see as the biggest difference between these two? Let's focus on features and functions only this time. Both marketing automations apps are similar in the scope of features, and their sub-functions don't differ much at first glance. Both are able to: 🔸 Create and send bulk emails to different lists, including combinations and exclusion lists, A/B test emails, etc. 🔸 Create simple as well as advanced workflows for marketing automation 🔸 Track visitor behaviour on the website - e.g. record which pages they visited 🔸 Compose lists based on visitor characteristics and data (I don't write "behavior" on purpose) What #Pardot can do and HubSpot can't: 🔸 Site search = a list of search queries on your site 🔸 Webpage redirects = URL aliases, URL shortening, etc. Very useful for, e.g., tracking the number of file downloads, etc. What #HubSpot can do and Pardot can't: 🔸 Has a significantly wider range of possible interconnected objects (custom objects) with Salesforce CRM. (sic! especially in the case of Pardot) 🔸 Offers stronger API for 3rd party application integrations (such as GoToWebinar and others - the ability to transfer more integration fields, etc.) 🔸 Enables access to data for external users = integration into Salesforce Customer Experience Portal (again, extremely strange considering Pardot is a part of Salesforce). 🔸 Ability to track repeat visits to the same page – Pardot pretends it can do this, but it's either an extremely painful process or a difficult and unreliable workaround. Ironically, two of HubSpot's main differentiating feature-based benefits are better integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot's main competitor in the CRM market. Next time, we will focus on User Experience, navigation, and speed. And I promise the difference will be much more obvious here. So, stay tuned.
