I don’t work much during the ‘working day’. You’ll pretty much only find me working my ass off early in the morning or late at night, with the odd hour thrown in somewhere during the day. I work to live. Just because I love my job and my clients, doesn’t mean I live to work. I went self employed to choose: 👉🏻 When I work 👉🏻 How I work 👉🏻 Who I work with Working slightly unsociable hours doesn’t mean I don’t get client jobs done… far from it! The hours I work are when I’m most productive, which really means that I get more done in those hours than I would working 9-5. I could never be someone that doesn’t work at all as I’d get way too bored. But I also want to live a little and have fun, experience new things and see my family. Do you work all day, every day? #workfromhome #graphicdesign #brandidentity
I try to find the right balance for me. I like working the 9-5 hours but I can be flexible if I need to.
I totally agree with working when feeling most productive! There's no point forcing yourself just because of a certain time of day. Love the flexibility of being self-employed!
Love this philosophy Lauren - I too am most definitely a night owl when it comes to a lot of my creative work! 🦉
Well said, That's the beauty of being self-employed. I work different hours depending on the season too, so in summer I work more in the day as it is too hot outside and in the winter I work more in the evening as it is so nice to be outside during the day making the most of the daylight.
This has reminded me 🙏 Thank you so much Lauren!

6moYou make a great point Lauren Simmonds I am probably conditioned to working “working hours” but I totally understand your pov and working when you are most productive/ in the zone is much more important than “clocking on” at 9 and “clocking off” at 5
