Today is my 3 year anniversary at Everlaw and I’m feeling very grateful. First, I feel incredible fortunate to work with an outstanding team of marketers (some pictured here). Your energy, your ideas, your camaraderie, your execution are amazing, and are propelling Everlaw forward in huge ways each year. Second, the entire team at Everlaw is amazing. The teamwork is some of the most outstanding I’ve ever experienced across the company from Sales to Legal to Product to Customer Experience and Finance. It is a pleasure to work with such great organization. Finally, each year I think about where I am in my career. Am I in the right place, learning the right things, doing work that matters to me? The answer is a resounding yes to each one. All of the same reasons I joined Everlaw three years ago…the opportunity to bring transformation to the litigation & investigation market, the fantastic people at Everlaw, and the ability to drive meaningful change in society helping to expand access to justice (with Everlaw For Good)…ring true for me today. We just wrapped up Ignite our revenue kick-off event and it was wonderful to see all our work coming together in our great year end results and our ability to execute in the coming year.  Looking forward, I'm energized by what team Everlaw can accomplish in the next 3 years. Speaking at ARK Group USA’s National Summit in Brooklyn was fantastic! With Scott Kaiser and Jessica Kerner we dove into ways to get attorneys excited about innovation and knowledge sharing: 1. Profitability Conversation: Identify tasks attorneys write off and find innovative ways to automate them. 2. In-Office Events with Legal Tech Partners: Encourage lawyers to share AI success stories with peers (doughnuts and raffle prizes included!) 3. Time Tracking for KM and Innovation: Let associates capture time spent on these crucial projects. 4. Gamification: Because what lawyer doesn't love a friendly competition? 5. Pop-Up Trainings & Fun Incentives: We all want more firm SWAG. Thanks, Scott and Jessica! #ark #km #legaltech

Things I learned this week: 🔸 They have Uber in the North; 🔸 Lawyers are like penguins. We will both slowly become extinct if we don't learn to adapt to our rapidly changing environment (thank you Shaun Jardine for burning the image of a 6'4 penguin into my brain); 🔸 People-first businesses actually work (Jodie Hill flying the flag with Thrive Law); 🔸 If you want to understand the real power of AI, speak to people in less regulated professions (Piers Linney for example); 🔸Transformation involves recognising what needs to change, and then not being scared to actually do it (Sahar Farooqi embodying that on stage); 🔸 Bolton and Preston sound similar but are not, in fact, the same place; 🔸 Even the busiest people find the time and energy for the people and things that really matter (Robert Hanna and Kate Burt drawing hundreds of people into the middle of nowhere* for the inaugural Great Big Legal Offsite was testament to that); 🔸 Mr Louboutin has a personal vendetta against feet and wants them to die painfully in his shoes. Congrats Robert Hanna on a helluva GBLO conference. Roll on next year! *no offence intended against any person who resides in or around the North, but it's not for me.
