Research Economist at African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET)

Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), home to one-fifth of the global population under 25, is the world’s youngest region. By 2030, SSA's working-age population will reach 600 million, with a 37% youth share, surpassing even China. Realizing the potential of this vibrant youth population demands strategic education, training, and robust national development strategies. 💼 Young people in Africa need to be ready for work, and School-to-Work Transition Schemes can help them achieve that. These programs and initiatives guide young people from school to the workforce, providing practical skills and work experience. 📅 Join ACET and the Mastercard Foundation on March 21st for an impactful Intergenerational Dialogue on School-to-Work Transition Schemes in Africa. Experts, beneficiaries, and policymakers will discuss the critical role these programs play in preparing African youth for the workforce by imparting practical skills and work experience. 🔗 Register NOW: bit.ly/IGD_2024
