In celebration of #GivingTuesday, LCEC encourages members to join the movement of global generosity! #GivingTuesday was created in 2012 to encourage people to do good in their communities by donating time, money, or using the power of their voice to spread generosity. How is LCEC supporting the movement? LCEC upholds the cooperative guiding principle of "Concern for Community" by volunteering with and sponsoring local organizations year-round. These efforts are further strengthened through the LCEC Power to Share by Rounding Up Program, which creates opportunities for employees and members to support neighbors in need. The LCEC Power to Share Program, a partnership between LCEC and the United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties, was created in 2009 to provide emergency assistance for members experiencing temporary financial difficulties. In 2021, the partnership expanded with the Power to Share by Rounding Up Program, allowing members to round up their monthly electric bill to the nearest dollar. How can members contribute to help neighbors in need? When you donate to the LCEC Power to Share by Rounding Up Program, you are contributing to an effort to make a difference.
