📅 On April 28, 1947, Oswaldo Aranha of Brazil was elected the first president of the United Nations. This historic moment marked the start of intense diplomatic activities. Particularly, Arab delegations from Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Syria strongly advocated for their rights. They asked, Why are we not being treated as Class A mandates, as promised by the League of Nations? 🔍 Legitimate questions arose: - Why is our land being discussed in foreign boardrooms? - Why aren't the local voices being heard? - What happened to the promises made?
