This district, encompassing parts of the Upper West Side and Morningside Heights, will see Lasher succeed the retiring Danny O’Donnell. Despite O’Donnell’s endorsement of Eli Northup and support from left-leaning groups, Lasher’s robust backing from local Democratic officials and major labor unions, including HTC and UFT, secured his win. 70th Assembly District: - Jordan J.G. Wright, son of Manhattan Democratic Party leader Keith Wright, clinched the seat with 48.27% of the vote. Wright, who was supported by City Council Member Yusef Salaam, will succeed Inez Dickens. His victory in Central Harlem highlights the power of political lineage and strategic endorsements. 68th Assembly District: - Incumbent Eddie Gibbs retained his seat with 42.53% of the vote, overcoming controversy over misleading campaign endorsements.
