𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀! 🪄 Presenting an excerpt from our workshop done for an IT company on Saturday. While designing the session I decided to present a concept on the "individual vs. process" through a magic trick! I said: " I have a chain and a bangle. Here's the "trick": the bangle magically links onto the chain, but only if I follow a specific sequence of steps" Now, some of you might be thinking, "This sequence seems pointless." But trust me, there's a reason for each step. Here's the lesson: Those steps are like the processes we follow at work. They might seem tedious at times, but they ensure consistency, quality, and avoid errors. ✨ Just like the magic trick: Preconceived notions: If you skip steps because you "know better," the bangle might not link, just like unexpected issues might arise if you deviate from the process. Rewarding Experience: Following the process can feel clunky at first, but when everything clicks into place, it's a smooth, successful outcome – just like the perfectly linked chain and bangle! But what about those times when you have a "better way?" Great question! Processes are there to guide us, not to box us in. If you see a chance to improve, speak up! The best processes are constantly evolving, and your insights are valuable. Processes are there to empower you, not hinder you. They provide a roadmap for success, allowing you to focus your skills on tackling problems creatively within the framework. So, the next time you encounter a process, approach it with an open mind. It's a wrap! we just completed our final session in the Learn & Connect Series from International Association of Facilitators (IAF)! Witnessing Michael Wilkinson first prepare for a session in the most intentional way, then guide a few dozen facilitators through one of the toughest processes in his 40-year career was nothing short of inspiring. His session was followed by a deep, insightful Q&A and an unexpected, generous 40-minute post-session chat! 🔥❤️🙏🏾 My heart is full. The session was great and I couldn't ask for anything more but I appreacited an observation that feels appropriate to share on this professional platform: ✨️Michael (and many successful people I've observed) remind me of advice I read about years ago from the infamous Toni Morrison which was "write the book you want to read". ✨️She didn’t write with an audience in mind; instead, she wrote to fill a void she saw in literature. ✨️Morrison’s work is celebrated precisely because it is unapologetically true to her perspective and experience, which resonates with readers. --------- Watching Michael in his element and following his body of work all these years reminded me that creating something meaningful doesn’t always come from a need to be seen or recognized—it’s often about that inner drive, that joy that fuels you from within. Another thing I've observed (and experienced) is that some creators show that when you create something for yourself, out of personal need, curiosity, or passion, it often results in work that resonates universally. By honoring their own voices and visions, they’ve been able to produce work that speaks to the human experience in ways that feel authentic and enduring. The lesson: whatever your craft is and whatever you're trying to do, if there’s a story you want to read and it hasn't been written yet, then you should write it.
