This year’s Mental Health Week theme “A Call to be Kind” reminds us of the power of kindness. Kindness and compassion matter, especially when someone is going through a hard time. At CDIC, we understand that our greatest asset is our people, and that we all face challenges, periods of stress, and moments of doubt. What matters most is how we support each other. Let’s use this week as a reminder to prioritize our mental health and to be kind to ourselves and others—all year round. #compassionconnects #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness

May 6th-12th is #MentalHealthWeek, "an annual event to celebrate and raise awareness about the importance of mental health. This year’s theme is Healing Through Compassion." The Canadian Mental Health Association discusses the practice of self-compassion. “Practicing self-compassion means approaching ourselves with the same kindness we extend to others such as our family and friends. In moments of difficulty, failure, or self-doubt, we recognize our pain instead of ignoring it and provide ourselves with comfort and care. It’s acknowledging that everyone experiences challenges, as this is simply part of being human.” Self-compassion is not only vital for our own well-being but also for fostering empathy and understanding towards others. Let's prioritize kindness towards ourselves and each other. Together,#CompassionConnects us all.

The month of June is a time to raise awareness about men’s mental health challenges, break stigmas, and encourage open conversations. The topic of mental health is being discussed more now than ever and people are becoming more open about their mental health while we continue to learn better ways to support one another. It’s importance to listen to the men in your life if they reach out to you so that they know someone is there for them, empowering them to prioritize their mental well being. While Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month is important, we must continue to raise awareness to men’s mental health throughout the year 💙 #mensmentalhealth #mensmentalhealthawareness #mensmentalhealthmatters #mensmentalhealthmonth

Today is R U OK? Day, and it’s important to remember—it’s okay if you’re not okay. 💛 It’s been amazing to see our team come together this week, participating in activities like our mental health survey, morning tea, trivia and joining in activities helping to create permanent resources for our break room—support that lasts 365 days a year. What stands out most is the conversations happening around how you don’t have to wait for a crisis to ask, “Are you OK?” Checking in regularly with those around us can help prevent small things from becoming big challenges. Let’s keep these conversations going today and every day! #RUOKDay #MentalHealthMatters #StayConnected #RUOKAnyDay
