Final call for our 1st event next Thursday morning in central London. https://lnkd.in/erhk4ugH We've called it "It Starts Where You Are" - because we believe the heat from computers, in on-prem data centres, owned by businesses in a local area, instead of being wasted, should go towards heating local community swimming pools... for FREE.... But honestly, I thought this was a big risk for us... Having raised a flag for a new paradigm in critical infrastructure over the last 12 months (decentralised, off grid with heat recycling - and the energy provided free) - I wondered whether asking Managed Service Providers to think locally like this was too much. I was worried people might see the approach as too..... too parochial. I can only say, the reaction so far has been stunning..... It turns out the critical infrastructure industry has been crying out for this. From the largest hyperscalers to the smallest 3 person MSP, people are "getting it". They love the real ESG impact we have (not just the carbon, or water, or pollution) - they love the social good we can do.... Almost everyone we're being contacted by, or have reached out to, seems to value being a part of a positive, local, kind, sustainable solution to the challenges facing the cloud and data centre industry. Places are now limited now (we've got <10 left assuming a high drop out rate - if everyone comes we're going to be turning people away but we'll worry about that on the day....) If you're a managed service provider or cloud platform and you want to see the future of the data centre industry - a future in which we, in the data centre industry, are the climate heros (not the villans) - please come along next thursday - we'd love to see you.

I think so – must suggest to Nick Spencer) MWC surely deserves its own vocabulary: 👉The feeling of angst when you haven’t secured all the meetings that you wanted (slice-o-meet-a-mania?) 👉When the person you think you are meeting is substituted with someone else (bait-n-switch-a-roo?) 👉The science of clustering meetings by exhibition hall to minimize walking time: (peda-loca-ology?) 👉When your next meeting is in 5 minutes in Hall 1, but you’re in Hall 6 (hellarun?)   And what is the collective noun for analysts at MWC? I’m thinking it’s a ‘gloat.’ Deutsche Telekom’s Niklas Boll surely wins gloat-whisperer supreme – securing the biggest meeting turnout at the DTAG Share Club. Of course, he knows the secret: send out invitations at least 6 months in advance.
