Taste and health cannot be more perfectly uncorrelated, -1, or are they perfectly correlated, 1, because what Clinton and Bill Gates consider taste is reality the lack of it? This lack of taste is giving the planet a nona-bypass along all the nine planetary boundaries, as the Amazon burns to let the cows graze to feed the world’s growing appetite for their flesh along with economic growth and aspiration of the one human family to converge. Gates wrote a book on climate. Invested in how to mitigate cows passing methane. But his addiction to money and cows remains, undermining both his book and investments. The way to save humanity is not to make rounds of both Norway and Sub Saharan Africa, far far above and far far below the equator, the Great White North and the Great Black South, but walking the talk on global sustainability. Reading an excellent book by Bolden etc al (2011) on exploring leadership, they cite Parker's work (2002) and his view that the efficient management of McDonald's, globally, leads to cultural poverty, where local difference, high quality local food is set against a process where a recipe created in a warehouse in the USA is followed all around the world. This feels like a good critique of some of the English education system where some multi-academy trusts insist that all teachers teach the same way and with pre-prepared materials, thereby extinguishing the individual and local professionalism of teachers, preferring uniformity and hence cultural poverty. Also suggests that school leadership is likewise a pre-prepared, bureaucratic and 'branch- manager' style of activity.

It was very stimulating to work with all the principals in ACT last week. Firstly, I appreciate the ability to work at the system level where you have a chance of making an impact. Secondly, it is refreshing to find a system that is not trying to get its schools to pursue multiple goals. ACT rightly says: have one, maybe two priorities - and then make go after them and make a difference. When schools are directed to have multiple goals it goes the science of improvement; multiple goals mean you have no priorities. On February 9, 2024, the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. Chairman Milton Jones Jr. participated with the Players Coalition in Las Vegas. The Players Coalition was founded in 2017 by NFL players Anquan Boldin and Malcolm Jenkins. Milton discussed the Work of the 100, The importance of mentoring, and how organizations have and can collaborate to effectuate positive change for youth and communities. 100 Black Men of America is a newly announced NFL social justice grant recipient at the national level. The Fireside chat included a Q&A with Malcolm Jenkins, who discussed the Players Coalition work, being an active participant in your community, and his new book, What Winners Won’t Tell You.
