As a Computer Science professor, I've noticed something alarming: 76% of my brightest graduates who chase "FAANG-only" dreams end up switching jobs within 2 years. The average student who focused on building real-world projects instead of just LeetCode? Now a successful tech entrepreneur. The Tech Career Trap: → 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 → 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗹𝗴𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗺𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁𝘀 → 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 → 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 The Reality-Based Framework: ✨ 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 ✨ 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀 ✨ 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 ✨ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 The best tech careers aren't built on certifications alone; they're built on a foundation of adaptable skills and a problem-solving mindset. Stop obsessing over FAANG interviews. Start building a diverse technical portfolio that showcases real problem-solving abilities. #TechEducation #ComputerScience #CareerDevelopment #TechSkills #CSEducation

Recently, while scrolling the feed on X, this particular tweet from Reddit caught my attention. I don’t know whether to laugh or feel ashamed. As a recent graduate with a CS degree, I completely agree with this post. The actual syllabus taught in our Indian engineering colleges doesn’t cover these basic yet essential things that one might use for the rest of their life. It’s not just about blaming the education board, system, or even the teaching methods. As students, we are equally responsible for not learning outside the box and just sticking to those "𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨" that might come up in semester exams. I started learning about app development with my first project participation in college, writing research papers for my SIH project, learning ML for a sentiment-analysis project, and social networking while I was in the EDC-Cell of the college. I got exposure to many tools and software only when 𝙄 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨, 𝙝𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚. It doesn’t matter if you are from a Tier-I or Tier-III city, or if your college has record-breaking placement records or not. All you need is a thirst for knowledge and the interest to learn and practice. I have personally seen a few of my friends from Tier-I colleges still figuring out what to do with their lives, while a few of my friends with just a diploma are earning more than 7 LPA. In the end, 𝙣𝙤 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙤𝙣-𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪. You have to come out of your comfort zone and start doing what really drives you, consistently. What is your take on this, comment below ⬇️ 📌 Follow Sai Raam for daily data stories and relatable content #Learning #Freshers #TechnicalSkills #LearnInPublic #RecentlyGraduated #srinrealyf
