In the lead up to #ALTA2024 in December at The Australian National University we're featuring interesting papers and talks from #ALTA2023 held at Melbourne Connect last year. In this paper, Steven Nguyen at University of Melbourne, Daniel Beck at RMIT University and Katja Hölttä-Otto also of University of Melbourne, work on the novel task of cognitive #empathy - an individual's ability to accurately assess another's thoughts. Using paired sentence from #design interviews and #NLP techniques, they show that an unsupervised approach, using similarity of vectors from an #LLM, is a promising approach in this space. https://lnkd.in/gWSPsEKg

Hello everyone...! I'm happy to share my recent deep dive into the fascinating world of Hugging Face models! I explored three of the NLP models done as Task-2 as a Machine Learning at AIMER Society - Artificial Intelligence Medical and Engineering Researchers Society. A brief insight into the functionality of these models is as follows: 1)Summarization: These models condense long texts into shorter, coherent summaries while retaining the key information. 2)Fill Mask: These models predict masked words within a given text. 3)Visual Question Answering: This is an exciting and complex model used to answer questions about images and videos.
