Leeds Architecture and Urbanism Research’s Post

We are pleased to announce that Œcumene Spaces For Dignity is collaborating with the Leeds Architecture and Urbanism Research group at the University of Leeds on a new project: Deconstructing 'Scarcity' in Tataouine, Tunisia. The project will investigate the dynamics between #vernacular and formal hashtag #urban #systems and assess their impact on the region's overall #resilience by dissecting one of #Tataouine's vernacular landscapes. The team will co-produce #knowledge about Tataouine's unique landscape, collaboratively dissecting its vernacular #water #management system and evaluating how such socio-ecological systems contribute to the region's overall resilience. We thank Professor Gehan Selim for her collaboration and recognition of the significant impact this project will generate. We're excited about the insights this partnership will bring! We also commend the dedication of our team, Omar Al Riyami, Tesnim Larbi, and Amany Hamdany—whose efforts have been instrumental in bringing this project to life.
