As someone who grew up in Montana (where 40 degrees feels like a heatwave) and spent six years in Denver, you'd think I'd shrug this off. But living in Florida has adjusted my "cold tolerance," and today’s walk had me feeling like I was back in those mountain mornings. Here’s the thing about cold weather: it wakes you up, sharpens your focus, and gives you a chance to reflect. Walking in the crisp air this morning reminded me how important it is to start the day with intention. Whether it’s mapping out business goals, planning family time, or simply taking a moment to be present, these walks set the tone for the day ahead. So, here’s to appreciating Florida’s “winter moments,” however fleeting they may be. For those of you in colder states, I salute your resilience—you’ve got this! As a new year begins and we focus on making sure we have everything set to try to better ourselves and our family, let’s not forget our homes, the place where all our memories are stored 🏠✨. There are many rituals that represent new beginnings and welcoming a clean slate, so let’s do the same for our home 🧹🌱. Saging a home gives a fresh sense of peace and comfort 🌿💫, and the use of Palo Santo or Rosemary will help achieve a new start 🔥🌿. Checking the batteries in our smoke detectors is a way to keep our house safe and the people living there 🔋🚨. We use our refrigerators with water and ice makers daily, so be sure to check the filters ❄️🧊🔄. Having clean air running through our home is vital 🌬️, so make sure to change the air conditioner filters 🌿💨. Decluttering even one room at a time can help the new year start off less stressful with less mess to avoid 📦🧘♀️. Cleaning our windows or ceiling fans may seem daunting, but once they are done, you will feel so much better ✨🧽, and not seeing the dust build up and smudges will keep this year going on the right track 🔄🌟. These tasks may not be completed in the first week of the new year, but once they are tackled, you will feel completed and confident about what lies ahead for you and your family 💪❤️.
