I know there’s a lot of gurus of VO who love to make it about THEM when it’s really about YOU the Voice Actor and what you do spontaneously- that’s the secrete sauce , No one told Hal Douglas , rip, how to read or a Paul Freese, there IS no standard read - but alot of inexperienced VO people get sucker punched in bowing to the so called keeper of a VO catagory , ex: specifically Automotive, I’ve done hundreds and hundreds of local automotive spots - and currently the thousands of local voices fronting local automotive spots have nothing in common - all are doing their own read - sorry to ruin the trade secrete

Here I’ll make it simple, as a Voice Actor you have to be able to do this
1. Get script, harness words so you can read them without error, at same time make copy your own
2. Bring a read or sev takes that illuminates your audition to the point where you make the short stack (that’s the voices being considered for booking - other 200 auditions are cut)
3. Stop trying to mimick what Voice guru told you to be - be Yourself, ever heard of that concept
4. Stop flushing the spontaneity from your soul by being a class attending, over educated, stiff
VO is flying off the deep end, being risk taking, staying within what is your unique reads, it’s not being an uptight class member doing her/his best to obey the rules set down by the VO guru 😳😳🤮🖐️🛑
