🌐 The Global Evolution of Legal Resourcing Starts Here 🌍 In the bustling headquarters of a multinational corporation in Berlin, Maria, the in-house counsel, faced a significant challenge. Her company was expanding into new markets, but hiring reliable legal support abroad was proving difficult. The traditional hiring process was cumbersome and fraught with issues—language barriers, trust concerns, and the high cost of legal services. Maria needed to find a trustworthy lawyer in Singapore to navigate the local regulations for their new branch office. Past experiences had left her wary of hiring unknown professionals. She required someone vetted and reliable, but her usual resources came up short. This is when she discovered LegaMart. Intrigued by its promise of a global network of highly-experienced and certified legal professionals, Maria decided to give LegaMart a try. She quickly registered and was amazed at the platform's user-friendly interface and robust features. Within hours, she had access to a pool of over 2,850 legal professionals from 128+ countries. Maria posted her requirements on LegaMart’s Opportunity Wall, detailing the expertise needed and the scope of the work. She was particularly impressed by the transparency of the process—no hidden fees, competitive costs, and clear communication channels. Through LegaMart, Maria connected with Wei, a seasoned lawyer based in Singapore, who had extensive experience in corporate law and a deep understanding of local regulations. LegaMart's stringent vetting process assured Maria of Wei's credibility and expertise. Furthermore, the end-to-end encrypted communication provided Maria with the confidence that all interactions were private and secure. Wei quickly became an invaluable asset to Maria's team, seamlessly guiding the company through the legal intricacies of establishing a new branch in Singapore. He provided ongoing support, removing any language barriers and ensuring compliance with local laws. Thanks to LegaMart, Maria's trust issues were resolved, and she could focus on her core responsibilities without worrying about legal complications abroad. Thanks to LegaMart, Maria’s company successfully expanded into Singapore, and she gained a trusted legal partner in Wei. LegaMart had transformed her hiring process, making it simpler, faster, and more reliable. Join us in this journey and be part of the global evolution of legal resourcing. #Law #LegalTech #Lawyer #Innovation #Technology #Startups #DigitalTransformation #Management #Entrepreneurship #BusinessGrowth #Networking #CareerDevelopment #JobInterviews #Hiring #Recruitment

Considering Only Local Talent? There Might Be More to the Story. Opting for local hires is often the straightforward choice—less paperwork, familiar systems, and budget-friendly. But could this mindset cap our firm's potential? In my experience, the legal field’s best may not be in our region. The globe offers a diverse array of legal expertise! Here's my strategy: For routine legal tasks, local talent is sufficient. However, when it involves specialized knowledge or leadership roles, expanding the search can be beneficial. Encountering a standout international lawyer? They could bring the innovative insight that sets our firm apart. This diversity isn’t just about variety—it’s about strategic advantage. Assess the investment against the potential returns. Frequently, the global perspective an international lawyer introduces surpasses the initial sponsorship outlay. What’s your hiring philosophy? Combining homegrown talent with international prowess? Share your views below. #LegalExpertise #WorldwideTalent #StrategicHiring #LawPracticeLeadership

3 TOP things to consider if you want to pursue a career in Legal Ops but it is not fully developed or prevalent in your region: 1️⃣ 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐟 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐩𝐬 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰, 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐨𝐩 𝐮𝐩 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐧. Look at Singapore: in July 2023, there was no sign of Legal Ops, but by June 2024, big companies like PayPal, Google, and Adecco are currently hiring for those roles there. Just hang tight, Legal Ops could be on its way, especially as big global companies get involved. 2️⃣ 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬. Reach out to legal recruiters, hiring managers, professionals in big law firms, corporate legal departments, and those overseeing related portfolios, such as legal project managers. Ask them about their familiarity with Legal Ops and their thoughts on its development in the region. Inquire about their perceptions of its potential growth and what steps could be taken to foster its advancement locally. For instance, in Japan, some legal executives, like Takashi Suzuki, are currently collaborating to define the Japanese framework of CLOC Core 12, integrating global and US Legal Ops practice standards with Japanese ones. 3️⃣ 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. Keep learning about it from podcasts, books, online legal magazines, surveys, and reports. Understand how it works now - from a standard perspective - to spot where you can grow (there's more to it than just 12 areas, so plenty of opportunities) or decide which specific area you want to improve in. That way, when Legal Operations becomes popular in your area, you'll be ahead of the game and ready to excel in this field. Hope this helps! I’m hiring! Looking for 0-4 PQE lawyers for my team. I keep my case teams lean, so that means you will in many cases have to work with or report to me directly. That is either good, or scary, depending on your perspective. What do I want? You need to be Singapore qualified. (My apologies to the talent out there who aren’t). You need to be smart, eager to go to Court, ready to speak in Court, inherently curious, willing to learn, ambitious to build a practice, and high resilience- able to take pain and suffering. Because one thing I can guarantee, this job is difficult. On occasion even brutal. We play, and aspire to play, at the highest levels. On the plus side, I can promise a few things. Exposure- you will get a wide variety of cases and disputes on your plate. Corporate disputes, construction and engineering, restructuring, trusts, investment disputes, white collar crime, IP and media, cross border work and international arbitration. Opportunity- We’re client facing. You will have to deal with clients. I want my lawyers to have speaking roles and first chair roles early. We give young lawyers the opportunities, and the budget, to do BD. Training - I’m not looking to build domain expertise quickly. I’m looking to build practice and courtroom skills, commercial awareness. Domain expertise will accrue organically. We’ll teach you soft skills - networking, communication, reading people, business development, executive presence - I take that seriously because these skills assume greater importance the more senior you get. This role isn’t for everyone. It may even be an acquired taste. But it’s a great opportunity for the right person or persons. Since I’m a dinosaur, contact me directly by email with your CV if you would like to have a conversation. shenyi.thio@tsmplaw.com I will likely only be able to respond to those shortlisted. So please accept my apologies in advance if you don’t hear from me.

Modern legal departments have to be much more than just the knowledgeable trusted business partner and advisor to their colleagues. They must be innovative, lead by example with regards to ethical and compliance standards, be truly customer-centered, always be on top of things, cope with an ever-increasing legislation and administration, manage risks for a sustainable future of the company and its stakeholders. Modern legal departments are asked to respond very fast while maintaining a high level of quality, handle a huge variety of topics competently while being very cost-consciously - and often they are asked by their colleagues to simply do magic!🪄 That is why we, a passionate legal team, have submitted one of our ideas for our internal company innovation award. To show what our everyday life really looks like. In contrast to all (old) stereotypes. So, #Rexel colleagues worldwide, watch out for our pitch! If you like it, please vote for our idea, so that we get the funds to further develop our project.🚀 As a modern legal department we live diversity: of course gender diversity. But we believe diversity is so much more than only that. Our small team with which we handed in the pitch is truly diverse: our 5 team members bring in 3 nationalities, 4 languages, different professional backgrounds, range from students and young professionals to colleagues with several decades of experience and all of us work interdisciplinary. This diversity is what we think makes us successful in delivering every day innovative and sustainable solutions. ➡️If you are interested in joining our team as working-student, check out our career website regularly for opportunities! #legal #legaldepartment #diversity #sustainability #esg #innovation Alexander M.
