Leibniz-Lab Pandemic Preparedness: One Health, One Future reposted this

Today is One Health Day. The health of humans, animals and ecosystems are closely interlinked. Changes in these relationships can increase the risk of new human and animal diseases developing and spreading. #OneHealth is an approach to optimize the health of humans, animals and ecosystems by integrating these fields, rather than keeping them separate The One Health approach is for everyone! No matter who you are, where you live, you have a role in it! https://bit.ly/40A3wa6

Thank you for shedding light on the One Health approach World Health Organization It's crucial to recognize how interconnected human, animal, and environmental health truly are. Addressing health challenges like zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and climate change requires this integrated perspective to achieve sustainable, long-term solutions. The One Health framework not only enhances health outcomes but also fosters greater resilience in our communities and ecosystems. It’s inspiring to see initiatives that embrace this holistic approach to protect both present and future generations.

This is wonderfully comprehensive and easy to read! I'm not sure why people became so separated from the natural world around them. Even in developed areas, some people won't leave their homes because going outside is a cause of anxiety (possibly due to fear of being judged by bored humans?) but still. Get a couple outdoor potted plants to fuss with to take your mind off of it. It'll take some adjusting, but it's for the better, both mentally and physically. Animals have changed their behavior for us (I've seen a deer look both ways before crossing a road and dogs and pigeons using public transit). It's time we show them the same respect, plants, animals, the environment alike.

Thank you, WHO, for highlighting the importance of the One Health approach! 🌍 It’s essential to recognize the deep connections between human, animal, and environmental health. Tackling complex issues like zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and climate change requires this integrated perspective to develop effective and sustainable solutions. The One Health framework not only improves health outcomes but strengthens resilience within our communities and ecosystems. It’s inspiring to see initiatives that embrace this comprehensive approach to safeguard the well-being of current and future generations.

Very informative thanks for shareing

One Health starts at the grass roots level, that’s why we started OneStreet, to help communities be more resilient. https://onestreet.earth Our OneCreek program is being piloted for urban waterways and getting great engagement.
