Exciting Highlights from IFAT 2024 in Munich! We had the opportunity to attend #IFAT2024 and are thrilled to share some key takeaways from this year's event. This exhibition showcases groundbreaking innovations in sustainable waste and recycling management, among others, with a focus on optical sorting technologies. 👕 Textile Recycling: As the EU prepares to introduce new regulations for the collection, sorting, reuse and recycling of used clothing, textile recycling has never been more relevant. The progress in the field of optical sorting with hyperspectral cameras is particularly promising for this development. ♻️ Plastic Flake Sorting: The application of hyperspectral cameras in plastic flake sorting was another topic. Especially the cameras’ resolution is paramount in sorting applications and one of the most important factors to achieve accurate and precise results. The Digital Product Passport (#DPP), established by the European Commission in the proposal for the Regulation on Ecodesign Requirements for Sustainable Products (#ESPR), is set to become a key instrument for ecological and digital transformation. By continuously providing relevant information in digital format throughout the entire lifecycle of products and their components, the aim is to significantly reduce resource consumption and disposal burdens, and instead promote the repair, reuse, repurposing, and recycling of discarded products in the context of a sustainable #circulareconomy. Exciting Innovations at the 2024 Packaging Conference! Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the 2024 #Packaging #Conference, organized at the #DanPanorama Hotel in #TelAviv. The event gathered around 250 professionals from Israel’s packaging industry, and it was a great opportunity to learn about the latest #trends in #sustainable materials, biodegradable packaging, and cutting-edge technologies that will shape the future of our industry. The conference truly highlighted the progress being made in sustainability and environmental responsibility. 🎉 In addition to the fascinating discussions, the 2024 Star of Israel #Awards ceremony took place during the conference, celebrating excellence and innovation in packaging. We are incredibly proud to share that Sapir Plastics Industries was among the award winners! Sapir was recognized in the Sustainable Packaging category for developing an advanced machine stretch film with 30% post-consumer #recycled content (PCR) and 250% elongation. This breakthrough product not only reduces plastic consumption but also maintains the high durability needed for #industrial packaging.
