1-Nov-2024 Day 36 inside FF™ Model 101: Notes: The first flush of this PE strain blew out our previous record for mass in first flush. We pulled 5.5 lbs of fresh mushrooms out of a 16 lb. FOREST FLOOR™ Tray. In doing so the subsequent "flushes" have been more sporadic, for the precise term. Step 1: Post-flush, examine that there is no large visible growth of actual mushrooms in the tray. If so, with sterility in mind, remove all mushrooms possible before proceeding. Step 2: Add a "Casing Layer" to the soil in the tray. Using gloves, mask, and all proper sterilization procedures, you will first fill the gaps on the sides of the tray with mushroom soil, packed softly, but removing air pockets. Top layer should be spread evenly and should have the thickness of about 1/2" to 1". Step 3: Press "Post-Harvest" Re-Inoculation on the Settings in the machine. Step 4: The FOREST FLOOR™ Model 101 will perform the following operations: Over-force high-humidity conditions to promote mycelial growth into the newly added substrate. Minimize O2 introduction because mushroom growth does not need to be promoted at this time. Use sensors to detect mycelial growth. Hypothesis: While we are implementing direct moisture and temperature sensors, in the mean time, we can directly sense the dehydration process that occurs with the mushroom grow environment. In doing so, we can determine the mass/moisture ratio we need for optimal mycelial growth. How cool is that! Post-Harvest Settings: Day 1 (with Casing Layer on): 4 hrs add 16 oz. moisture to soil, zero fresh air (and thus no O2) 8 hrs maintain moisture 95%, zero fresh air (and thus no fresh O2) 12 hrs high humidity and low fresh air exchange, bring ambient temperature above 60 degrees Day 2 & 3: 12 hrs maintain moisture 95%, zero fresh air (and thus no fresh O2 12 hrs high humidity and low fresh air exchange, bring ambient temperature above 60 degrees For detailed summary visit the FOREST FLOOR Website: https://lnkd.in/dtHBiUKh
