🚀 Hey, folks! Lateral hiring is a total game-changer for India's progress! 🙌 The government's recent decision to open up civil service jobs to talented folks from the private sector is a huge deal. 🌟 This means we can bring in fresh perspectives, expert know-how, and innovative problem-solving skills right into the heart of policymaking. 💡 Imagine the amazing ideas and real-world experiences that can help the government tackle tough challenges and drive sustainable progress. This is all about building a more responsive, efficient, and people-focused administration. 🌍 It's a chance to bridge the gap between theory and practice, making sure policies actually meet the needs of the common folk. Let's embrace the potential of lateral hiring and work together to unlock India's true economic and social prosperity. 🙌 #LateralHiring #CivilService #EconomicProgress #SocialDevelopment

In 2022, we were building StockPe from Bangalore but soon shifted. The reasons- - A super expensive place to live and find tech talent. - I missed Delhi's food. - Traveling time was a big issue - We used to take a buffer of two hours for every travel. - The city wasn't welcoming. - You can network with people but will miss authenticity - There were language barriers. You might face criticism. The thing is it doesn’t matter where you operate from. Big businesses can be built remotely. But these cities give you a bigger perspective- you learn, you adapt, you grow Anyway, we are currently operating from Mumbai and commute to Delhi regularly. Among all, I love Delhi. People here are far more welcoming and relationship-oriented. Plus, it’s budget-friendly and you can eat yummy food :)

Feeling like you're constantly on edge in the fast-paced startup world? You're not alone. While startups offer exciting opportunities, frequent layoffs and unethical practices (in a handful of organizations) can leave employees feeling vulnerable. Never apply for a job again. The tech economy has impacted sales hiring in a big way over the last 18 - 24 months. There are many factors as to why tech companies aren't hiring but access to cash, and high interest rates certainly haven't helped. When are we going back to a more normal state of hiring in the tech industry? That is a question we're going to attempt to answer during our networking event on May 30th at 5:30 pm here at Sales HQ (Raleigh Durham). see comments to register. Our panel of experts Timothy McLoughlin (Venture Capital), Ben Hartmere (CEO), Lee Whitley (Recruiter) and myself (ex-CRO) will offer our unique perspectives on the state of the market pre, during and post pandemic and when the hiring patterns will start to change. Regardless of the current state of the market we all should be joining communities, building relationships and networking like crazy. Doing these things consistently will lead to new opportunities and potentially your next career move. All without having to ever apply for another job. #saleshq #networking #relationshipbuilding #community

Weather, values, community, network!? Why are so many professionals moving to south Indian cities? Bengaluru and Hyderabad are ruling the charts when it comes to professionals moving to these cities for jobs. Bengaluru absorbed 1,23,000 talents in the past 12 months while more than 80,000 skilled professionals moved out of India's Silicon City in the same period. Whereas Hyderabad absorbed 14,000 such individuals from Bengaluru in the same period in a report by Xpheno. What is making these south Indian cities score over Mumbai, Delhi, or any other part of the country? What do you think?

Saw a job post for remote work mentioning that the prospective candidate should be residing in the UK. While the instructions were clear, It was really sad to see Pakistanis ignoring the clear candidate requirement and commenting (rather begging) to be given a chance. Guys, please understand that doing stuff like this only hampers your own image. Always remember that provision is not in your control. Channelize your efforts in making your work stand out rather than chasing a quick buck. While these individuals should direct their efforts to better actions, it is also important to note that the current economic predicament, coupled with false hopes from "successful" incubators has made people this desperate, a sad state indeed. Please think long-term rather than chasing a short-term buck. Focus on those areas where you have a chance, begging and pleading won't get you anywhere. Here's to hoping for a more professional Pakistani Amazon VA and service-providing agency! #amazon #pakistan #service #business

Correct me if I am wrong. Unemployment in India is a skill issue. Jobs are plenty, talent is scarce. Quick story: I was recently hiring for a few roles and I shared the job poster in local WhatsApp groups. I started getting calls soon after, and asked the applicants to mail the resumes. To my surprise 80% of them didn't know how to write an email although most of them had one. I interacted with many business owners from tier 2/3 towns and the common problem they shared was lack of quality talent. Each of them were always hiring yet it was rare to find great talent. The issue is that good talent goes away to Tier 1 cities and thus every role has hundreds of applicants. The ones left behind in tier 2/3 cities are under skilled to take up the available jobs. We say that India needs more jobs. I disagree. What we need is: - better education & skill development institutes. - youth inspired to up-skill themselves. #jobs #unemployment #startup #india
