Bringing Meme Runner to Life: How we did it and what happened 🗿 🎨 Marc-André Poulin crafted an impressive facial rig in Maya, which we then imported into Unreal Engine. By leveraging live face tracking, we brought the animations to life, producing some fantastic promotional content. 💵 Although the game achieved a low CPI of 20-30¢, we faced challenges with Day 1 to Day 7 retention. At Bolder Games, I've been building procedural animation systems for dynamic content, such as AI characters. This week, I realized I could (with very little effort) create a compelling digital clone of myself, including my voice, personality, memories, and a decent Metahuman likeness. It's a pretty surreal out-of-body experience to talk with yourself face-to-face. Last week Diffusae 2 for After Effects was released. This is a plugin that allows you to run Stable Diffusion models locally within After Effects. My test workflow: Original animation rendered in Unreal Engine. Applied Diffusae in After Effects as an adjustment layer. Animated between prompts and keyframed values. Upscaled with Topaz Labs. I'm not affiliated with the product, just finding it really fun for creating style frames and generating ideas. The ability to apply as an adjustment layer on top of your active AE comp, gives a lot of freedom and interactivity. The temporal consistency does not meet some of the popular video to video cloud services, but do I wish I had this kind of tool back when I pitched style frames for commercials and promos! aescripts + aeplugins Baskl.ai

🎮𝗥𝗣𝗚 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀!🔮 In my free time, I’ve been working on an RPG where you take on the role of a mage, diving into dynamic, strategic combat. ⚔️✨ The game emphasizes strategic spellcasting, where you plan combos based on casting time, range, damage, your opponent’s weaknesses, unlocked spells, and crowd control effects. 🔧 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀: The spell system is 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿, powered by Unity’s 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 and a custom editor, which makes creating new spells a breeze! Spell strategies include single cast, multiple cast, AOE (area of effect), and chain cast. While these mechanics are scripted and ready to use, the game currently features only single and multiple cast spells—but stay tuned for the rest! ✨ 𝗔 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘁: Each spell can be equipped at different levels, allowing players to strategize: cast faster with reduced damage or take your time to unleash its full power.
