Lend A Hand India recently conducted an engaging Training of Trainers (ToT) session for 22 teachers and HMs from Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation(MBMC) at the Karigar School of Applied Learning, Pune. The training aligned with the National Education Policy 2020 and National Curriculum Framework 2023, offering participants a holistic understanding of pre-vocational education. Teachers explored the What and Why of Pre-Vocational Education, its importance, and strategies for effective implementation in classrooms. This initiative would not have been possible without the vision and leadership of Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation including Sanjay Katkar IAS (Commissioner), Aniket Manorkar (Additional Commissioner), and Prasad Shingte (Deputy Commissioner), whose guidance has been pivotal in driving this effort forward. Their commitment to advancing education in the region is truly commendable. Key highlights of the session included annual planning discussions for integrating pre-vocational education with the broader curriculum, focused group presentations, simulating classroom activities, and emphasizing subject integration, timely execution, and hands-on experience. Participants also toured Karigar’s state-of-the-art labs, gaining inspiration to bring these concepts alive in their own schools. These trainers and HMs are the driving force behind Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation’s innovative “Employability@18” pilot program, engaging various NGOs to implement age-appropriate programs aimed at enhancing the employability of students in specific grade 6-8 interventions. The program, led by Mahesh Rasal , an alum of Lend A Hand India, and Lead of the Center of Excellence, Education in MBMC, aims to equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in the workforce by the time they turn 18. Topic- Homeschooling In the last couple of years, the pandemic has further accelerated the growing popularity of online learning, hybrid learning, experiential learning, and homeschooling. Homeschooling is also becoming an increasingly popular educational option worldwide, and India is no exception. Homeschooling has emerged as a key approach as a result of the educational gap created by the closing of several educational facilities during the pandemic and the restriction of students to their homes. This method of instruction allowed parents to guide their children's education and modify the curriculum to match their interests, which aided in the child's holistic development. With traditional schooling, students were restricted to ‘one for all’ curriculum but with homeschooling, the curriculum can be designed according to the areas of interest of the students, thereby allowing them the opportunity to learn different streams and acquire specific skills. #Talentserve#edtech
