The mine had previously attempted auctioning the equipment off, with little success - Lenmark was brought in to ensure that the true value of the equipment was realized. Was chatting about this deal last week with some people on the rumors - but now that it is announced this seems like a total win for Permian Resources. Evaluating it at face value, it screens better than other recent M&A activity. $817 M purchase price 15 MBOED net = $480 M value 200 gross / 130 net locations with remaining value = $2.6 M per location. That's better than the pressers for Devon's recent move in the Bakken and on par with SM's Uinta buy. If you use $4 M per location on par with other Permian activity, they picked up 84 net location / 130 gross. Wasn't only Barilla Draw, but PR picked up NM Delaware Parkway acreage too. They also secured midstream assets and royalty acres that help soften those metrics. I assume the market doesn't love the debt and stock offering but the deal is solid compared to other activity and a swoop for an operator bolting on cash flow and locations in their sweet spot at a fair price.
