Aluminum 6061 Aluminum 6061 is not only one of the most common aluminum processing materials in the 6000 series but also the top choice for CNC machining. Machined parts of aluminum 6061 can be seen in almost every industry. Aluminum 6061 is a precipitation-hardened aluminum alloy with good mechanical properties and weldability and is often used in 5-axis CNC machining. Machined parts of aluminum 6061 processed by 5-axis CNC are not prone to deformation, have almost no tolerance issues, and are easy to be anodized to achieve a very good treatment effect. As one of the general-purpose aluminum alloys, aluminum can undergo various heat treatments and is the extrusion process choice second only to 6063.
